So, I have been processing since the 24th of January. This morning I decided to call in and see what’s up. Talked to a very nice lady, who said a letter was sent a while back. She didn’t specifically say an ID letter, just correspondence. Anyway, she decided that the letter was lost in the mail, and had a new letter sent. This happened this morning.
Fast forward to this afternoon, thanks to the efficiency of the USPS, I got the original letter, dated Feb 3rd, 2017. I id verified using this letter, everything went well.
After I verified, I told the lady that a new ID letter was sent this morning, and asked if that would affect this current verification. I assume, once a letter is assumed lost, a new control number is issued on the new letter. I asked if this would affect anything. She couldn’t give me a straight answer. In the end her advice was just wait and see.
So opinions please…..Will an id letter being reissued affect the verification on the first original letter? Or, since I verified with the original letter and the original control number, am I good to go?
P.S. I know the lady said 9 weeks, but come on, someone out there had to have ID verified and received their refund in less time, right?
