Hi, everyone. I’m in need of some help here – or at the very least someone to talk me off the freaking ledge at this point.
Thankfully, my tax refund went pretty smoothly in the beginning of February. I can’t say the same for my fiancé’s. He filed and was accepted on 02/03. Received the 60 day review notice on 02/20. Found out it was because the IRS showed his income as 5k less than what was on his W2. He contacted his job and of course they sent everything correctly.
We applied for a TA the first day we were able to which was 03/05 and got approved. She called us a couple days later and we faxed over his last pay stub and a letter from his job showing his income, withholdings, etc. She told him she sent over the documents as well as a request to release funds and that he should have his refund by 03/31 and would be in touch with him then to check in. Fast forward to today (03/30) and she calls to tell him that there has been no update and can’t really give any more info other than things are slowed down due to the virus. We are just a few days shy of 2 MONTHS of waiting on his refund and we desperately need this money as we are homeless. Not to mention the virus. Is anyone else experiencing this?? It seems like everyone is moving along besides him and it is so disheartening.
