Updated to path message this morning

So I went from received and processing refund to the path message so does this mean I will get a refund date next week 🤔 got the same message last year and got refund before Valentine’s day

I filed 1/27 and approved 1/28. I ordered my transcripts by mail on 2/2. The transcripts arrived today and were blank. It looks like as of 2/2 They werent done processing so for me I know for a fact just being able to order them doesn’t mean you’re done.

@Amb that is so untrue. I filed 1/23 accepted 1/24 updated to Path. Although I have the Path message I ordered both my transcripts and yesterday they both came BLANK … so now I’m scared the Path message means nothing as far as guessing if your processed.

There are only 5 different types of transcripts, account , wage, return , and civil penalty. People are so hung up on transcripts .I can order them directly because I am licensed and typically a return transcript means you have been processed otherwise you have not. The account will come regardless even blank and the wage well that is all your tax forms that were reported for that year but it’s not up to date until October of this year for 2017 so that will likely be blank also.

I think you are assuming that they ordered them by phone. I ordered mine via the online portion of the IRS website (not to view online as that to will tell you they are not ready) and it gave the generic message that it would be sent in 5-10 days. I have not got those yet but I have a good feeling they will be blank as I ordered them 8 days ago but got the path message with the Saturday update. However last year when I ordered (online again) I did in fact get blank transcripts just with my info on them and nothing else. By what you were saying I am assuming you only ordered by phone and thus that system of ordering is a tad different than their online system?

I got accepted on the 20th, ordered my transcript for 2017 on Jan 25th and they were blank….smh I honestly think I ordered my transcript wayyy to early

FYI: To everyone posting about blank transcripts. A quick google search shows lots of people posting on this forum, Facebook and other forums about blank transcripts. These posts show up in tax years 2015, 2016, 2017 and now in 2018. 2015 was the earliest posts about blank transcripts I could find. Yeah this is my day off and I am bored.

Wow, I see some people here sure are touchy. Does tax season affect people that badly? Frank, watch out who you stepping to. I posted that I also got blank transcripts in the mail, I don’t know why this is such a touchy subject. Lots of people are apparently receiving blank transcripts. Maybe the IRS has a secret dossier filled with people it hates, and these people get blank transcripts?

P.S. Kinda funny how someone who pontificates like they are the all knowing, all seeing expert on taxes tells someone who posted once and on one subject to get a life.

I will always admit when I’m wrong bruh. Who tf are u talking to. AGAIN, When you call the IRS to order return (RETURN) TRANSCRIPTS. The system will state “for tax year blah blah a return transcript is unavailable”. Some people need a life…don’t try to come at me…

YAY path update!!!!

Filed 1/24, accepted 1/24. Ordered transcripts 1/29, received them today but they were empty.
Checked WMR every few days, but was away from computer for the last 4 days. Decided to check WMR today and I have the path message. Progress!!!!!! Hopefully once the path wait is over the IRS will make it rain pretty quickly. Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!

@willbeas Guess I will chime in here. You are WRONG. The IRS does send blank transcripts. I got blank transcripts last year mid-Feb. I did not receive my return last year until the end of March. This year, I ordered transcripts again, through mail, since they were not available online. Once again, my transcripts are BLANK.

I don’t understand why people on here insist they are in the right, no one knows who you are, no one will look down on you if you are wrong. Why do people insist on posting something that they really don;t have credible knowledge about?

I received blank transcripts, 2 years in a row. This is a fact, something tangible that happened and apparently I am not the only one, so it’s not an anomaly.

Being able to order transcripts through the mail does NOT absolutely mean your return is done processing.

I woke up to missing bars and PATH message and topic 152 on Sunday. This is the first time this has ever happened. I am an EIC and CTC filer. Accepted 1/29. Filed w TT. I am filing differently than I did last year though. I am wandering if that has anything to do with it. I noticed that most people who have missing bars are filing differently than they did the previous year. Is that the case with anyone else???

I was able to order both transcripts not sure what that means since I’m hearing some people’s are coming back blank.

Well, they don’t send return transcripts blank…the system would state for that year not available…so I’m going off all my true statements from previous years when it comes to transcripts… Only difference is the system doesn’t update as quick due to pathact..but if you got return transcripts you are done!!

I did the return over the phone… From previous years I would do online and phone just to be certain I’m complete but this year it L’s saying my info don’t match online but over the phone did 2017 return anD sure enough it ordered. Return doesn’t send blank if not available it will say for the year you selected it is not available

Updated to path message overnight.
Married filing jointly both EIC and ACTC. Same as last year, last year received refund on 2/22. Expecting to receive it the 16th due to the holiday or the 22nd again. Last year I had filed in February due to late tax forms. I am fully prepared to wait until the 22nd. I remember last year them saying end of February or March and then mass deposits started dropping before then. So as long as our government stays open and raises the debt ceiling, I am certain it will be the same as last year.

Filed early last year with path and had a DDD of 2/23 If it all goes the same this year, it will be 2/22 (both Thursdays). Really hoping people aren’t expecting that the 15th is a magic date. Nothing happened last year and everyone freaked out. This year, IRS says not to expect refunds until the 27th, but I’m hopeful for the 22nd….unless the government shuts down on the 8th. If that happens, we’re all screwed!

I filed 1/29/18 was accepted same day. No updates at all. I don’t even have the PATH message. I’m worried that something may be wrong since so many have received some type of update bit more still hasn’t moved from 1 bar. I unfortunately have an emergency &need these funds no later than the week of the 15th. I hope I don’t have to ID verify or be audited. Geez this is so stressful.
