I filed1/22. Accepted 1/27. Only have ACTC, no EITC. I have had one bar, and TT152 since I was accepted. But last night when PATH was lifted, I got the path message now. Has this happened to anyone else? What the hell is going on?

Our Prediction for when we will see the first updates in 2020
When is the First batch of Direct Deposit Dates for PATH Filers on WMR in 2020?
The IRS “Where’s My Refund” tool will be updated with projected deposit dates for most early EITC and ACTC refunds by Saturday, February 22, 2020.
Please Plan Accordingly this is a full week after the 15th this year. This year will mark the longest we have had to wait for an update since they put the law into effect in 2017. In years past we have seen updates within a few days after the 15th.

Look at the pervious year process:
During the 2019 tax season, the first batch of Direct Deposit Dates started pouring in at 3:30 am Saturday, February 16, 2019, with an update for some of the early filers with daily and weekly accounts with 2/21 Direct Deposit Dates. Effective starting back in 2017 all major tax refund updates for both daily and weekly accounts claiming EITC or ACTC credits see most updates on Saturday mornings. Starting the following week Saturday, February 23, 2019, the IRS returned to normal processing of daily and weekly accounts held by PATH both receiving updates on Saturday Mornings.
We will get a update in the morning after 6 am the system will be up again. Keep in mind tax family, agents aren’t available to speak to the tax payers on Sunday’s but during the tax season they are working in Sunday’s.

We will get another update first thing in the morning, the system will be unavailable until after 6am.
When you call no rep is available of course, but the agents are still working. I have a friend of mine that works for the IRS.
In addition everyone that has received the processing message it’s normal the same exact thing happen to me in previous years.
For those who’s saying relax and be patient ok that’s great but you never know people situations. Let’s all be considered and respectful.
Hope this info helps but to ease your minds just look at 2018 forums and you’ll see the same process happened.

Yes, same happened to me. I filed on 2/1 & accepted in 10 min on 2/1 I had 1 bar the whole time. On 2/15 it updated to path message then this morning 2/16 it updated to no bars, but has a message saying I’m processing. A lot of people were saying don’t be surprised if wmr never updates & you just get your DD.

@Maddie, though it’s taken some time (received path first time last season), everyone with certain credits, will eventually update to Path message. Before the IRS removes it permanently (not path act).. The message was meant to be temporary! The new act law was signed, by President Obama, in 2015 and will be a permanent fixture. The wait however will remain also!

My husband also changed to PATH last night. No credits. I changed to PATH and I have both credits. So it is showing for everyone. I think it’s going to change to a DDD for everyone who has the PATH message in the next few days.
We both filed 1/27, accepted 1/28 -

Kristy, same here. There’s no wording for amount. Just tax period ending: Dec 31, 2019. I’m irritated because I can’t check my transcripts this year. I changed phone numbers. Went to re-register and even though the contract is in my name, they can’t verify my number 🤔. Could with my prepaid phone but not my contract?! I’ve never gotten the PATH message in previous years.

I was on one bar up until last Monday 2/10, then bar disappeared. Now I just checked wmr and I have the path message. And refund amount on the left column is gone. I’m a little worried about this but maybe more info will be available tomorrow morning. So I assume Path lifts some time after midnight tonight 2/15-2/16??

Filed 1/27
Accepted 1/28
2/15/20 UPDATED TO PATH MESSAGE ( I HAVE EIC & ACTC) Last year i got my refund on 2/26. Im hoping its gonna be soon. I looked up my account on SSA.GOV and my 2019 income is already posted, that usually means you are done or very cliose to it. I believe IRS is the one who provides that information to Social Security. Does anyone else know for sure?
Thanks!! -

Will I receive a Direct Deposit Date on February 16 when the PATH Message lifts from WMR?
Everybody’s Where’s My Refund? statuses will change to a new status because the PATH hold releases at the end of the day (11:59:59pm) on February 15th. Most people will see the Still Processing screen until they receive further information or two bars with a Direct Deposit Date.
