Update on bars disappearing/message

I filed on 1/23 accepted same day. Within a few days my husbands bars went away (not mine) and I got the message:

Your tax return is still being processed.
A refund date will be provided when available.

Well finally today I got a letter from the IRS asking me to call in to verify some things. Finally an answer for me. I don’t know what all goes into verifying everything, first time for us, but I am glad this is almost over. I don’t know if everyone else having this message is going to have this happen also. But if you are having that message with no changes the end is at least near!

I called into the IRS and they couldn’t verify me over the phone after almost 2 hours. I now have to go into the IRS on Monday. Sorry I didn’t update sooner I was busy and super bummed out. They asked me everything short of my blood type and couldn’t figure out why I was receiving a letter. So I will update after my meeting on Monday. I got my letter on 2/4 I filed/accepted on 1/23.

My return was accepted on 1/18 and I haven’t received a letter from the IRS yet. I do however have the same topic as your husband. On the letter can you tell me when it was dated?

Please let us know what happens tomorrow (Monday ) when u talk to the IRS ! My husband and I are in the same exact position. We field joint , lost bars on Friday am . Filed 1/30 . We got the same processing message . No refund amount anymore and we have the tax topic 152 . We have gotten a letter . But it has only been a could days .

Sorry I didn’t respond right back, been busy with kids. The letter asked me to have 2015/16 tax returns and W2s and anything else I would of used to file with. Simple for us since it is one W2 and tax returns. I got them all printed out from Turbo Tax and I am ready to go. So nervous lol Calling the IRS is as much fun as going to the dentist

Omg please keep us updated when you call the IRS on Monday! I guess we are falling in the same boat as you and you hubby?
In the letter did they say what needed to be verified exactly?

That happened to my husband and I with the update last night. We filed & was accepted 1/25.
I have no bars and the processing message. My husband still has 1 bar with TT 152, we did file a joint return with EIC & CTC.

I had that all week last week and updated to a DD to 2/8

Last year it was a letter for health care so that message is nerve racking for sure

Oh and I just got my letter today so if you are getting a letter should be any day now or it’ll go through processing like normal. Wish I could tell you which but the IRS doesn’t help out on info much. When I call Monday I’ll come back and post what they asked me so if you have the same thing you will know. : )

They do want me to verify my identity, well my husband’s. So odd since we haven’t changed anything in 6 years on our returns. Just lucky I guess.

My mother got the same message and she received her DDD this morning for 2/8… so it just mean their processing it
