I filed and was accepted on 2/1 and a few days after 2/15 I lost my bars and tax topic 152 and had theYour tax return is still being processed.
A refund date will be provided when available message with my info on the left side. There is sat…until this last Monday morning!
I began calling on 2/23. That was a Friday and the IRS is closed all weekend so I called again on the 26th. The IRS phone system kept hanging up on me during the transfer pin for Tax Advocate process. On Feb. 27th I called my local Tax Advocate office and left a message. They called me back on Wed. the 28th and assigned me a Tax Advocate out of Atlanta. I was told it could take about a week for the TA to call me. On Tuesday 3/6 my TA called me, gathered information and put in a request to the IRS to release the hold on my refund. They had 3 days to respond to her. On Friday, March 9th the IRS released the hold. On the morning of Mon. March 12th my WMR updated slightly to the same message but including Tax Topic 152.
This morning my TA called to inform me that my refund has been accepted/released and she is now seeing a DDD of 3/21.
She said that the reason my return was kicked out of the system was what she assumes must have been a glitch in the uploading process of my return to the IRS. My Schedule C form didn’t upload properly but the IRS was able to fix the issue manually and I’ll be getting my full refund within the next 5 days. So, if you are working with a Tax Advocate this may help you get a feel for how long the process takes. I will update on this forum when I get my refund.
