    Update

Where’s My Refund?” Begins Updating Feb. 16 for EITC and ACTC Filers
By law, the IRS must hold Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit refunds until Feb. 15. Taxpayers will begin to see refunds claiming EITC/ACTC the week of Feb. 27. “Where’s My Refund?” will update for EITC/ACTC refunds beginning Feb. 16, with the vast majority updating by Feb. 18.

Yeah that’s from the IRS website, unfortunately, and it’s newer than the one that says otherwise.

I don’t know, I want to believe that’s just a safe date, but the way it’s worded makes me skeptical. Doesn’t say “may” like it used to. Just says “will.”

                  SIGH. Damn IRS.

Again, they give these dates as a “safety net” so people don’t expect things to happen right away and blow up the phones. They have said over and over again that they’ll start releasing funds ON the 15th and I bet it will not take that long to receive those funds. Now I’m sure the majority of people won’t receive their refund until late next week/the 27th, because they will most likely release funds in batches, starting with the early filers 1/1-1/19, then 1/19-1/31, then 2/1 and later and so on..
