Are all the under review things the same? I’ve been stuck at still processing for forever now, no updates in like 3 weeks and called the IRS Monday and I have to verify identity or something like that. Has anyone been through this process? Of so what did you have to do and how long does it take?

Filed & accepted on 2/5 w/ both credits. Had bars & “being processed” until last week. Then bars gone and STILL being processed & TT152. Called today, system wasn’t showing much info, just that mine is still being processed. Asked about being reviewed, no just still processing. CSR mentioned she’s noticed ALOT more returns w/ credits are being reviewed this year. Hope this helps…good luck everyone!

Call the verify hotline, tell them u are to verify ur identity. Get it over with and stop worrying u less u are not who u claim to be (trying to be funny…no offense please). Please, u are stressing and it a simple procedure…just identify yourself…no biggie.

It’s a bizarre game with all the debts and random fate and scamming it’s all divided Into numbers

I haven’t gotten to file a return in probably 5 maybe 6 years, I lived with my fiance at the time and he never claimed me or my kids. Just last year my kids all went to school so I got to get a job and finally get to deal with this… So hopefully they don’t need my tax info from 6 yrs ago bc I honestly have no idea what happened to it between me moving from there to where I’m at now.

I know someone that did id verify and then his return was placed into processing immediately and approved the following Wednesday. The person that did the verification verbally told him he was releasing the hold and it continued to processing.

I’ve seen a couple people say they had to verify Id and it went fast after that, but then on the other side I’ve seen people say they kept getting different dates last year and waited forever before they got the money

It doesn’t seem so random to me honestly. There is an abnormal amount of people getting this 60 day review BS.
Oh and to answer your question OP: you can ID verify on line or over the phone. In rare cases they’ll ask you to do it in person at your nearest IRS office if you don’t pass the phone/online verify. It takes 9 weeks to process.

I’m in the same boat but never even received a letter. The irs rep told me I’m under a 60 day review. That’s all the info she would give me.

Wow you got more info than I did. I got the 4464c letter in the mail and I called the IRS. They told me it was a “random review” and just wait the 60 days. I’d like to know if I need to verify my identity or maybe there was a small mistake in numbers…they won’t tell me anything.
