      Many seem strapped for cash as bills mount, needs going unmet. Well, have you heard of “Unclaimed Property”. Each state/City has a Website for you to check if you are owed any unclaimed property (money).. Found out about this many yrs back, have shared the info w everyone from family, friends to strangers! I know this is a tax refund page, but what better time & place than this to share this info!

      Many of my family and friends were on the list, sadly, I was not. It’s your money – and some of you need it NOW.

          Oh, of course @redacted. I learned of this maybe, 7, 8 yrs ago. It isn’t something that stays on the brain. But whenever I am reminded, I share w as many as I can, and what better platform!

          @Cev, Nice!

          @Lu, Congrats btw! You’re absolutely right, it is worth the time! How ironic I post this the day you were approved. It just occurred to me, I never checked my Father and Stepfather (Both passed long ago), I think I’ll do that this weekend! If the siblings haven’t beat me to it, ha!!!

          Honey, it is worth it. Who couldn’t use extra cash! The fact that it’s yours, all the better. Had a friend who only recently learned his parents (who died a week apart) had a safety deposit box. He had to provide documentation etc, but in the end he got the box and key w a nice surprise.

              DEFINITELY!…I did this last year for my late father. The whole process does take about 3 months (in Michigan) but, it’s worth it in the end….

                  @target it was amazing. I got enough to get a car, which was beyond needed since mine died like a month before I got it and I had been driving my moms car. And I had enough left over to shop for Christmas too.

                    @Cev, must have been nice! Thanks for chiming in, failed to mention, family can also claimed if the owed party has passed.

                      Hi, Lu

                      I contemplated posting this, as my family were all VERY skeptical as some here will be. Most of my family still haven’t claimed theirs. Can you imagine having money, owed you, and not going to claim it? Lol. I know people on the list that are hurting for cash, yet so skeptical, have not claimed it. I get it, people don’t trust the Government, but this has absolutely nothing to do w them! These are monies from overpayments, paychecks from an old Job etc!

                      Thank you for confirming! Wish I were on that list, I’d have my cash stat. Btw, my friend had his in hand in less than 2 weeks, online process moves faster than snail mail, but $835 is still $835 you didn’t have prior and it’s yours.

                      As my Mother says “it’s a sin to not share information others can benefit from”

                        I was not on there, but my dad, who passed away almost 13 years ago, was. There was some extra paperwork required, but I was able to get it all.

                          In Ohio, hubby had one for $835.01. It has taken since December (I had to send additional supporting documents to prove that we lived at a specific address 8 years ago), but today the claim was finally approved and a check mailed (allow 7-10 days). It’s not an online process here, everything is snail mail. Totally worth the time!

                            A good friend of mine was on the list, his claim was only $30. But it was his.. My brother in law was on the list, he had 30 unclaimed – totaling $2000. I told him, tax season came early for you!

                              Just Search State (yours), followed by “Unclaimed Property”.

                              I hope you’re all on the list.

                              Good luck,
                              You’re welcome.
