I remember in the good ole days…… You filed your return, it got accepted, WMR would go to one bar immediately, couple of days later it would go to approved and usually, I’d get a message from the bank telling me my DD was there before WMR would go to the 3rd bar.

WTH is going on with the IRS?????

Maybe I’m seeing a pattern here but does it seem like people in early February are the ones that are just kinda waiting in Limbo. Maybe I’m crazy and looking for reasons to justify in the world I filed last Tuesday and I’m still waiting to get accepted while people who filed after the 12th have been accepted!

I’m just wondering if anyone has had any experience that could shed some me light for me. I entered the wages in Box 1 incorrectly on my return. It was off by about $500. What I entered was actually more than what it should have been. Will the IRS correct this issue for me & send my return on time? Since it was a simple mathematical error and everything else was entered correctly.
Anyone ever dealt with a similar issue?

I say “chose” loosely, cause who ever chooses an extra fee for..

the Advance fee
+ card/check fee on top of
the Prep fee and the rest of
the Refund check fee (if applicable) and
the “Bill it to my refund” fee…and don’t forget
the deluxe/max/mocha choca bull$h!t fee
unless you feel you HAVE TO.

For the spare fool who gets suckered into the advance cause, you know, YOLO.
We live and we learn.

@gofigure the rest of your refund goes to the method chosen for that Advance, TaxPrep companies usually make it so you don’t have a choice to change it (they make money on the fees for the Card/Paper Check fee).

I’m pretty sure since TaxPrep companies got a slap on the wrist for last year’s headache, there won’t be a huge headache for those who chose the Advance option again this year and later qual for Stimulus $.

@Jay yes same thing here. But my WMR didn’t update til 7pm Eastern. And I know it because I checked 3 times today. I think the IRS was just late updating the info and are still updating.

I use TT every year…usually I have fee taken out if I had to upgrade to the service that charges fees. This year I paid up front in full. I didnt need the advance they offered but thought about accepting it for a second or two.

Hi. I’m curious. For those that accepted an advance from TT….what happens to the rest of your refund? And what happens if another stimulus is issued (if you qualify)? Reason why I read in several articles that referenced future stimuli …it stated that a person that uses a tax preparation should make certain they pay fees up front and have banking information to supply for future benefits or it will be delayed.

In the past…I file, and am accepted like within minutes. This time it was 24 hours. And in past WMR reflects received (one bar) upon acceptance but this time it shows nothing.

Im experiencing it now. Im just gonna wait till tomorrow or Monday to check again. This has never happen, even though we were just accepted today, it still hasn’t happen in other years.

The 21 days til deposit is just a standard message. Could be 5 days..could be 8 days could be 11 days could be 15 days…could be 21. Then it could be weeks or months. Depends if u have to IDVerify, depends if you get resequenced, depends if numbers are off, or employer didnt send w2 to IRS/SSA before you filed, etc.
