Transcript request site issue

Tried to order my transcripts. Tried 5 times over the last hour with clearing my browser between each try. Every time I try,after the page asking your name, address and filing status, I get a page that says “A technical problem has occurred. Please try your request again later”. Anyone else having this problem? Is it the irs being overwhelmed or is it me?

I had that problem showing a client how to order their transcripts. It seemed to work better on Chrome (which I hate) than on Internet Explorer. After 2 attempts, they were able to go through.

Keep in mind 2 things…

1. Transcript availability needs to be updated, which you may have hit them in that period. It follows a different schedule than WMR.

2. Everyone, especially those being choke slammed by the PATH Act are ordering them like fiends. It may have just crashed the system.

I just tried, no error message but I still couldn’t order return transcript. Have you tried calling the transcript number?
