transcript question

I was able to order account transcripts by mail but not the return. Can anyone tell me what that means and how often I should check to see if I can order the return transcripts. Thanks

@Narashea Sometimes there is a glitch in the system and you are able to order transcripts before your return is completely processed. This can result in a blank transcript. Usually the system will not let you order again within 10 days of your last request. Hopefully by that point, you will have your refund. However, if you are up to it, you may want to call the IRS to see what they have to say about that.

@Jay Once your return is completely processed, you should be able to order both account and return transcripts under your new address.

@Dan, it generally means you are not done processing yet. Once you can order your return and if it is complete and error-free, you should be good to go.

I did move, however if that’s the case shouldn’t inbe able to order account transcripts for this year with my new address and not my old one ?

If you cant order 2016 return transcripts with new address if you moved or with your address if you have not moved that means you are still processing.

The return transcript is the one that you will need in order to find the date your refund will be processed. It should come very shortly if you are now able to order the others.

That means the irs is processing your return. Return is generated when everything is done
