My stimulus is set to deposit on the 17th I to my new account. I haven’t even received my refund yet. I was told it would go into the old account if it hadn’t been processed before my stimulus comes. Everything still says N/a and still processing with no refund date. Could this mean my refund IS done and it’s going in my account on the 17th as well since my new bank info is being used for the stimulus??

My refund is still processing. And my stimulus is being sent to my 2019 closed bank account. So they didn’t access everybody’s return to get the updated bank account information :(

My as of date changed on transcripts on Friday and they still deposited my stimulus in old account. I am utterly disgusted with the irs as a whole this year. Even if they are backed up they should have allowed people to update their bank accounts before releasing stimulus checks. This should be an option going forward just because if you have a irs account online.

Correction.. even if the *return* was not processed yet.

I posted this on a different thread where they were talking about this, it sounds like a lot of people have their stimulus going to new accounts from their 2020 taxes even though those taxes are still processing.. and the day the Bill passed lots of people saw their “as of” date changed on transcripts. I think the IRS accessed returns to get the updated direct deposit info even if the term was not processed yet. Just a theory of course.

Same boat, which is what I am thinking. But, sounds too easy so inevitably we’re wrong.
