Got this message this morning. No tax topic or anything else.

      TAKE ACTION
      Please see below.

There is a delay in processing your tax return.

Filled and accepted 1/24 with both EIC & ACTC. No changes from last year.

Anyone else get this or know what it means?

Mine taxes have been delayed too. They say it was an error on their side. I did not have any charges except for an address change. filed 1/30/18.

I saw that too. Good luck. Hoping it changes and you get a positive update soon!

I saw some other topics from late January where some users got the 1514 message then updated to DDD a few days later. Hoping that’s what happens with me. Really don’t want to go through the hassle of providing documents.

I also have filed every year with no changes for last 4 or 5

I saw some other users this year who got the 1541 message then got a DDD a few days later. Hoping it really is just a delay and not a sign that I’ll have to jump through hoops to get the money owed to me.

Unfortunately you will have to wait for their letter. Usually takes about two weeks. They will not tell you anything over the phone at all until you have the letter

I do the same thing every year and never have issue. EIC and all that. Only done IS once before, and that was two years ago. and it had noissue. Just a check showing up in the mail.

Sounds like an audit, which is not surprising with all the things you claimed

I had 1541 last year. It was due to a problem with my 2012 tax return. They sent a letter and I fixed it same day and two weeks later refund was released

So, I have EIC< CTC, ATC, IS and maybe some others. I filed 1/23, accepted 1/24 and I had one bar for a few days and then it disappeared and was saying that refund was processing with no bars. I called IRC on 1/30 and they said there was no issue and that it would take 11 weeks for me to get my refund because of the injured spouse form.

This morning I check it and it says

“Take Action! Please see below for additional information on your refund”

and below it says “There is a delay in processing your tax return.
If you have a question, contact us.”

When I click on contact us it says

Please have the following available if you call:
                          A copy of this page.
A copy of your tax return.
The Social Security Number, Filing Status, and refund amount claimed on your return.
Any notice that you have received concerning your refund.
                          Reference number 1541.

I dont think this is the PATH message, and why would there be an issue when IRS told me it looked fine. Of course, they have to do this on Saturday Morning when no one is available to talk to.

Does it have a reference number?
