I have been a member here for a few years now. Honestly, every year is pretty much the same.
I thought I’d add some content to the board before I retire until next year. For the record, these are my personal opinions but they are shared opinions, so I am not the only one who feels this way. Also, this is the internet, so if you are offended, that’s your fault for taking it personally. See you all later!

      ▪ STOP FILING EARLY! They ain’t even opened yet, sweetheart. It probably directly impacts people getting resequemced, error messages, false error message, getting the rude IRS reps (they’re annoyed you filed early too!). You probably enjoy drama, or complaining is your thing. Maybe just an idiot! If you are open-minded and embrace rhis idea, i suggest to wait until February. I usually file between the 2nd-8th of February.

      ▪ Go sign up for a Netspend account. Period. I have had my account for over 8 years. Always get paid early, if you choose direct deposit. If it seems like a hassle, it isn’t. You dont have to use it if you don’t want to but you will want to come tax season. You’re given a choice of paper check by mail or DD so you will want to enter that Netspend acct & routing #! 😉 Pretty much your best bet on getting that text alert that causes an unexpected wave of euphoria & the pressure melts away, and you experience a positive and healthy boost. Plus, you sleep like a baby, get up early and actually look forward to paying your bills. Life goes on.

      ▪ Stop paying those fees! These tax sites are very convienant and easy to use. If you are filing the basic w2’s, have credits, go to school or have kids – there’s no reason to pay for it. Oh, because it remembers all your personal info from last year and you get to type less?Fooled you! You should know your stuff if your filing taxes. (when it comes to the more complex returns, property, business, write offs – I know nothing. No experience with that area)

      ▪ Don’t believe everything you read from news media websites about dates. You learn more from experience regarding tax season.

      ▪ Don’t comment when you “think” the OP who just got their refund, and it doesn’t match up with the “official dates” we see floating around every year. Or because your heard, from your best friends sister, whose aunt works at the IRS, that they wouldn’t even start to release any refunds for people with (ex.) “credits” until “very specific date, like, seriously”. You appear to be ignorant and annoying. It just so happens, that shit happens. I’ve gotten a refund 4 days after I filed it. It was pretty unbelievable, but it happened so I know it’s not just that I am special 😊 Plus, there are too many factors and fails at hand regarding the US Federal Government, they probably tell these employees to just give us their best BS explanations or excuses. They aren’t in the customer service field and they ain’t worried about complaints. They are the damn IRS!!!

      ▪ Don’t rely on WMR. I get text alerts when money is deposited into my account. I will check WMR one year, and I am still at one bar, for 5 more days. The yesr I had a 4 day turnarouns for my deposit, WMR did not update at all. Basically, these days I use WMR up until I get a DDD, If I get that far. Also, the PATH act. Just as many problems it has caused and how much it has failed at it’s purpose, people want to point out theyre a”pather”. Sometimes, panthers, too 😉 Look, it’s just a generic update message to allow the IRS to combat the calls, complaints, the questions, the this and that. I had the PATH message one year. The next year I didn’t. Norhing changed on my end. Conclusion: the WMR website isn’t very reliable and unfortunately, people still believe everything anyone ever tells them, without ever really using their own perspective, common sense, critical thinking or any thinking at all. It’s sad, really.

      ▪ it’s histroically “impolite” to discuss finances like how much someone makes so telling everyone you’re getting $12,000 back, you’re obviously not mature but might have many children, possibly by many different men (ha, because you know she ain’t lettin him claim that kid! but he better be paying child sulport otherwise he’s a bad father..) she’s a single mother, for god sakes!
