Oh Stewart…
We all know if you took the EITC, you asked for a hell of a lot more than 2 cents. -

@Jen yes ma’am. I work hard. I have 2 jobs. 1 of them I work 7 days a week and the other I average 30 hours a week on. I do my best to support my kids. I’m a single dad. If it wasn’t for their grandma helping me as much as she does idk how I could possibly do it. I rarely see my boys other then for 4-6 hours in the evening before I go to work. I need my refund. I assure you, I’m not uneducated and I’m certainly not a deadbeat!

There was no name calling, Jen. Congrats on keeping all your income and getting a refund! I love hearing about the government not getting a penny, even better when they pay the citizen.

Yes.
Thanks mods.
We know its not a refund if we don’t pay anything in. We just don’t need to be reminded of it while we’re complaining about not receiving someone else’s money fast enough. -

I don’t know everyone’s individual tax situation, but I for one am getting a little tired of people saying that if you knew how to fill out your W4 correctly or weren’t a deadbeat that you wouldn’t be getting a refund. 70k in yearly income and not a penny was taken out for taxes. BUT since we have 4 kids, one of which is in college, we get a refund. The majority of the refund is for education credits that I had to pay for my child to attend college, but part of it is the ACTC which puts me on the PATH. There ARE people out there that work hard and do not give the government “interest free loans” throughout the year but still get a refund and still are on PATH.

People have done worse for money even 5 bucks, being on this site is not a big deal for thousands that is owed to them.

Seriously ….. a simple Thank you…or Ur welcome (if ur a Mod) would suffice. I’m more of the observing user here as opposed to a….how’d u put it…. “trading assumptions, ideas and conspiracy theory” user but I didn’t start a thread to be lectured (in a sense). As I am aware tho, people just feel the need to be that “One” . Anywho, good luck to you and happy reading✌

90 percent of these threads are the exact same discussions with a different title; however, it does provide hours and hours of entertaining reading. If people correctly calculated their W4s, no one would be getting a “refund” and the money would have been in your pocket over the course of the year; not given to the government for as an interest-free loan and causing a neurotic episode. As for the “PATH” group, if some of you spent a quarter of the time researching the regulations and codes as spent in trading assumptions, ideas, and conspiracy theories, you would have known today would have not shown a life of the message, etc.
Relax, sleep, enjoy family, watch t.v., go for a walk, do something! Your money will arrive at the exact same time it would have if you didn’t care! If you do care so much, perhaps some financial education might be in order. Either way, thank you for the late night entertainment, the intensity here is better than any Jersey Shore or Housewives show. Cheers!
