*not expecting a return until late Feb*WMR was on one bar, but now changed to tax topic 152. Hopefully that doesn’t mean delay.

I figured i would update as I feel most people dont update when something actually happens.
I filed on 1/16
Accepted on 1/17No EIC
Yes ACTCwent from accepted to path act.
changed from path to processing about two weeks ago.
updated from processing to getting a DD of 2/27 last saturday with a note saying that my refund was reduced because of taxes i owed from a prior year return.
it sucks because i have a payment plan in place for the taxes i owed and didnt expect them to remove the remaining balance from my refund this year.
Either way, i am not sure what everyone else’s situation is but that is mine. hopefully i get my deposit tomorrow!

I’m feeling exactly like J-Renee comment. This is the strangest tax season for me. I file every year, claim EIC and ACTC every year, have same job last 3 years, always have had accurate & timely status updates from WMR, sometimes direct deposit to prepaid card, sometimes to checking acct….last year used taxslayer and had DDD 2/22 and it was deposited into my credit union checking acct on 2/22 a little after midnight….longest I’ve ever had to wait bc of the PATH act law. This year, USED taxslayer again, couple changes though…. AGI decreased about 5k bc took unpaid leave for surgery and have an additional child dependent….my newborn child. Oh, also opted for the prepaid green dot card this year. I was thinking maybe bc I’ve got a return that is out of pattern from the past…maybe an audit for closer look bc it is highest refund I’ve ever gotten…over $9k…normally its 6k to 7k. BUT I also filed early, like I always do….before IRS actually opens…accepted Jan 23.
LAST Year, I didn’t have to wait until the date published for PATH act filers…it was like Feb 25th I think. But I saw the orange bars progressing like normal. I didn’t stalk the website or do obsessive web searches about the delay like this year. THIS year makes no sense…there’s no reason why some got their refunds on Feb 22…the same refund date I got last year. I am always the first of my friends and family to get my return…most of people I know are EIC filers and they always file after me, every year. I’m usually the one to start talking about filing so it reminds everyone to do theirs too. But I’ was not the first to get my refund nor have I gotten any updates since Feb 16….All I get is two sentences basically says ” is being processed.”
Why am I being tortured this year! Where the hell is my refund! I am so tired of searching this site and every freaking site related to this issue, republicbank.com and sbctg.com and greendot.com and irs.gov.
I called the ORS bc it’s been over 21 days and still no status updates! Have no idea if I’m a weekly or daily status update. Cant get transcript online.
I’m posting this only bc YOURE NOT ALONE if you’ve never had issues in past but feel like you’ may have f’d up on your taxes somehow.
Nope, I’ve done the same stuff I do every year, claimed same credits, but after looking through posts, I think its the early filers who were accepted via the test batch prior to Jan 29. Never a problem in past but it’s only reason that makes sense…early filers GOT F#@KED!!I Too eager to apply for tax refund loan which I never get approved for.

I prepared my return as well as my sister’s return on 1/15/19.
We both were also “Accepted” on the same day, 1/28.I’ve read a lot of posts on here about a “test batch” pertaining only to those who filed early. I’m not sure exactly how to take that simply because despite us filing at the same time, getting accepted at the same time, and updating at the same time….we ended up getting separated somehow.
I’ve mentioned in previous posts how this has been the strangest tax season to date for me.
I have been doing my sister’s taxes since 1994. She isn’t offset whatsoever. For some reason she just didn’t get the update on 2/16 like I did. The strange thing is that up until then, we were in sync.
We both received the Path Act message on the same day and finally when the Path Act changed for me to “still being processed, it changed for her as well.
I only had the “still being processed” message for two days before It updated to APPROVED and I was then given a DDD of 2/22.
So you’re thinking she should have gotten the same update too right? Nope!
Her WMR remained the same “still being processed” and it has been that way since 2/14.Puzzling right?
So, I really can’t say I have the slightest clue as to how the IRS is doing things this tax season. I can only hope that she is updated and given a DDD on 2/23.
We both qualified for ACTC and EIC. So we are Pathers.
Just weird how I have a DDD of 2/22 and she doesn’t. -

@josh
I too was accepted 1/16 have both credits, wmr never showed accepted for weeks then on 2/4 it finally registered my info but it had the whole 1541 message. The Lady who did my return said there was a glitch in the IRS system so some of the “test” filers got stuck in it and are being resequenced after Path can start processing, so we go this silly hold message and they will get to me soon. However I don’t know if this is accurate Information it’s just what I was told. I did see a few other people say the same thing on here so I am hoping it is true and we will get our refunds shortly. -
February 19, 2019 at 2:40 pm #4283052Josh
My refund was accepted on 1/16/2019. wmr was showing the path message for a while and now is showing the processed message.
Seeing other people on here it seems like they are getting some DD’s even though they were accepted much later.
cycle date on transcript shows 04052019
I have actc but no eic.
I assume that my DD should be this week but Im confused.
any insight?

-
February 17, 2019 at 1:51 pm #4276445Chase
@ Ecamp
Cycle code 05. Last numbers shown was 768. I’m still a tad confused what it means. -
February 17, 2019 at 1:44 pm #4276434ShawninFL
Accepted 1/14
Had 1 bar until 1/23 went to 152/9001
No Notices, No TranscriptsThe one Transcript I can view that dosen’t say N/A.
No Record of Return Filed
Rolling date of 2/18/2019If the transcripts don’t fill and drop with a DD that 2/18 will move up another week.
Damn…. -
February 17, 2019 at 1:36 pm #4276421Ecamp
@Chase on your account transcript scroll to the very last section and you will see 3 digit codes for credits you are receiving. The very last code that you look for is 864 DD. Also at the top of the account transcript if you have a negative amount (credit balance) you know you have not been processed. It has to be zero balance when it’s done processing. Look at your cycle code too. If it ends in 05 you will only get updates once a week on Saturday and you will only get a Wednesday DDD.
-
February 17, 2019 at 1:30 pm #4276413Chase
How do you read a transcript? Idk what I’m looking for at all

@JessiC
Thanks so much.
-
February 16, 2019 at 3:55 pm #4274283JessiC
@Kathrin
Cycle code ending in 05 means you are weekly and update on Saturday usually.
Each of those other codes: 150, 766, and 768 are exactly what they say they are on your transcripts. The code you want to see is 846 which will show at the bottom as refund issued, and the date next to it will be your direct deposit date.
-
February 16, 2019 at 3:38 pm #4274255Kathrin
Please someone help me. Filed Jan 27th accepted same day

-
February 16, 2019 at 3:37 pm #4274253tracy

February 16, 2019 at 3:32 pm #4274248
Hi all! Back for another year…
— Filed TT on 01/18
— I do have EITC
— Accepted 01/21
— PATH appeared 01/25
— Yesterday, I checked on IRS WMR and it still had PATH ACT
— Today I looked and PATH ACT gone and it states “We have received your refund and it is being processed…” — bars are gone
— On 02/11, TT bars said my return had been processed and my “Expected DDD was 02/12” but of course…I know that’s a pile :o) -
February 16, 2019 at 3:30 pm #4274245Felicia Marie Mailand

-
February 16, 2019 at 10:42 am #4273747Toni
Filed early Jan and accepted before 1/28 (assumed test batch? but there’s no way to know forsure) No deposit date, path went away this morning 2/16 but still being processed not even showing any bars which I’m not sure why.*** So whoever said that everyone in the test batches would have gotten their refund this past week. No hun, that is not accurate and unless you processed their returns you cannot tell them when it would/should/could come.*** It’s all a guessing game! But for those who were accepted early, EIC/ACTC claimed, I’m in that same boat and no change except path is gone today. No ddd, no codes, just waiting. 2018 return came 2/16 in the evening EST and had filed later than i did this year.

I have no way to check my account transcripts, as it won’t recognize my CC’s #’sI’m just hoping that my DDD is also 2/22 like most people.

846 this morning with DDD 2/22Does this mean funds released 2/22 or before/by 2/22? I’m with BofA and I think they hold till actual DDD date given by IRS. No early release. Can anyone confirm?

I’m in the same boat as Chase. Was accepted to test batch on 1/17. Had 1 bar. That bar disappeared on the 28th it had the generic 152 stuff. checked it this morning and its back to being received and being processed. This is the worst tax season ever. I don’t really care as to when they get back. I really just want to know they are approved and everything is on track. Any updates that a re good?
-
February 16, 2019 at 4:41 am #4272982Chase
I did my taxes on 1/28
Accepted on 1/28.
It was stuck at TOPIC 152 up until an hour ago. Now it’s saying: “We have received your tax return and it is being processed”
What exactly does that mean? -
February 15, 2019 at 8:54 pm #4272361Jessica Murray
Oh I updated to path on 1/28 too
-
February 15, 2019 at 8:53 pm #4272360Jessica Murray
Filed 1/11
Accepted 1/22
Could order transcripts 1/28
Just a waiting game at this point
I got my deposit last year on my rushcard on the 16th before wmr updated
I only checked my wmr once today and went to check it at 6pm and it locked me out for an attempted second time. I thought that was a little weird.
Fingers crossed for DDD’s for everyone soon. -

Ally, usually from what I’ve observed and been through, if your return was accepted before the IRS opened tax season (jan28) your a test batch.
-

Filled 1/19/19

-
February 15, 2019 at 4:36 am #4270640Amanda
Heath,
you can go to the SBBT bank website and see if they have received your refund… you type in your info and it logs you into your profile where you can see when they receive your money…it is similar to the where’s my refund tool -
February 15, 2019 at 3:33 am #4270693Ashley
I was accped 1/14 and got PATH update last Saturday morning. Hopefully this Saturday I will wake up to a ddd.

February 15, 2019 at 3:23 am #4270684Me
Anyone yet started receiving refunds with eic, and child dependent credits claimed???? No luck on this side😥
-
February 15, 2019 at 2:21 am #4270663Aaron
Is it really that hard to go on Google and type in what PATH means? It takes more time to get to this thread to ask this question.
-
February 15, 2019 at 2:08 am #4270656Brianna
Can someone explain to me what the PATH message is? Is that the 152 tax topic refund information? I don’t have EIC but I do have dependents.
-
February 15, 2019 at 2:06 am #4270655charles glenn
ok so lets get this straight…nobody here thats got a path message can also be a test batcher. you would have received your refund this week if you were on the test batch and youd be done for the year.
-
February 15, 2019 at 1:42 am #4270634Okasha Felder
I file and got expected on the January 28 and im in the test bath i been on the path

February 14, 2019 at 9:48 pm #4270422Heath
Ok….so I filed 2/1 with Jackson Hewitt and I kept ONLY getting the tax topic 152 until last night when that went away in favor of the BARS!!! It was only on one bar. So…I talked to Jackson Hewitt yesterday and today and both people confirmed my return was accepted and processed and was sitting in the IRS Bank waiting to be issued….despite WMR only showing 1 bar.
Should I expect it soon?

I filed 2/6, got accepted same day.
Have had the same generic refund is being processed TT 152. I have both credits but still no path message. My sister filed after me and just got the path message overnight. I have been able to see my account transcript since 2/9 But it still says no return filed, and I don’t have a cycle number yet. Last year I was a weekly, and the three years before that I was a daily. -

I keep seeing people saying that individuals who filed early before 2/7/19 is going to be delayed 4-6 weeks due to a system glitch. I wonder how true this is??

I was in a test batch-
Filed through TaxSlayer-1/24
Accepted-1/25Made it to one bar in WMR pretty quickly and have been on PATH forever it seems. Last year my DD came on the 16th of Feb, even though we were told not to expect it that early. I wound up having it put on a prepaid card this year-praying no issues with that.

Updated to path on 2/1
Ordered transcripts 2/1Called it’s 2/7 and I actually got to speak with a live person. She says that if where’s my refund is showing the path act message that that pretty much means my refund has been processed and that I’m just waiting for the direct deposit date which will not happen until of course mid-February or possibly later. She said it should deposit 21 days from the date I was accepted which would put me been deposited on the 18th but that is a holiday so I’m hoping for the 23rd or possibly the weekend prior to the 18th. Hope this helps somebody.

filed 1/22, accepted 1/23 with a simple return and still holding at one bar!
This is the first year I ever filed early and also the first year I have gone so long without a DDD. This is absolutely a lesson learn, never ever will I file early again. I will continue to file on or after opening day for now on. -

Last year was easy peasy. I recieved out DD a right around the 22nd. The year prior was HELL! We didn’t get our refund until June.
Crossing my fingers, eyes, and toes, this year goes smoothly. I guess we will all wait and see.
Good luck, yall! -

Taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit may experience a refund hold. According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue these refunds before mid-February. The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or debit cards starting February 27, 2019, if these taxpayers chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return.

I filed Jan, 12th and wmr showed accepted on the 15th. Two days later the one bar I had disappeared and in it’s place where the 152 and 9001 codes. These codes are showing up for early filers because the normal 21 day wait for refund deposits does not apply to “us”. I have read everything I could find and in the end it’s really just a default screen/code. Nothing special or horrible. Basically our returns/refunds are in a queue mode till tax season officially opens. So sit back relax and dream of the day we wake up to a ddd to appear once tax season officially opens. P.s. last year my refund was deposited before it showed up on wmr site. So it was a nice surprise.

Found on The College Investor site (reputable information blog):
“What IRS Code 9001 Really Means
The actual code tells you exactly what it means – you filed a tax return that had multiple Social Security numbers attached to it. Typically, this is a husband and wife, but it could also include children as well (you never know, adult dependents may be checking the status of the refund). When you file your tax return, you have to specify a primary taxpayer, and the spouse or children all are secondary.”Additionally, “The IRS has an entire manual dedicated to errors and problems that they encounter… For the most part, codes less than 2000 are related directly to your return. Anything higher (like code 9001), it’s related to something totally different…”

Some of us are getting 9001 that aren’t married. I think someone even got it who has no dependents. The general conclusion is that 9001 is a glitch that will update when Path act or ddd happens. I guess we will find out.

My fiance is the only one to file in my house and he is HOH, not a joint return and he has that same code
-
January 17, 2019 at 10:51 am #4251916CindyC
For sure tax topic 152 is DD code. I have it every year it’s nothing to worry about. I have never had code 9001. I saw an article online that said it was given to those who are married and filed jointly when you don’t enter the primary tax payers social on wmr. So if you get it when you put yours in check your spouses and see if it is still there. Honestly not sure about it as I am HOH. I do know tax topic 152. If you click the highlighted code on WMR it usually gives some general info about the code.

I filed January 14th and was accepted the next day. Married filing joint. Code 9001 shows up on my husband’s social but not on mine. It really must be a glitch of some sort. We are still in the testing phase

Filed 01/14/19 accepted 01/15/19 today i woke up to code 9001 as well. If its a lot of early filers getting the same code then i think its the IRS not anything to do with our return filed.
-
January 16, 2019 at 7:37 pm #4251871
it can take 24 hours once accepted to show up on the website or app, I get same message on both, no bars and yet code 152 and If I have any questions call and mention 9001
-
January 16, 2019 at 7:32 pm #4251870
topic 152 just means you signed up for direct deposit of your check, alot of us lost the bar, seems to be sometype of glitch on the site

Ok I guess it’s good we’re not alone in the wmr change. I’ve read so many different things about the tax topic 152… code 9001. Nobody really knows it sounds like.. lol I am just hoping it doesn’t mean some sort of delay. Update if anyone’s change

Mine has topic 152 this morning. Also, I was accepted 4 minutes after I filed. And showed up on WMR immediately for me.

Accepted on 1/14 showing one bar until this morning. Now no bars and code 9001, TT 152 still. I seen a lot of people on FB that woke up to same code. Anyone else?
-
January 16, 2019 at 6:52 am #4251819starks
That code means you tried to check your refund using the wrong social. You filed a joint return? If you did you have to use the primary social
-
January 16, 2019 at 6:45 am #4251818John Doe
Mine was accepted and showed on WMR orginally, but now changed to code 9001. Never received that in any years past. Says something about secondary TIN. Any clue???
