So I finally got my DD of 2/27 but the Tax Topix 203 came up. I called the offset line but it says I don’t have any owed debt. Should I be worried or not?

How are you all getting the AMOUNT of your offsets?? All the automated service tells me is who I owe!

Doesn’t mean they sent you your refund, but yes, they’ve already taken your offset

When i call the offset line it says my offset HAS BEEN taken out of my taxes for a payment on 2/27… Does this mean that the amount of my offset is already taken out nd sent.

If it no longer shows up, it’s because they already paid it from your refund.

Same here…checked option 2…entire refund…called DOE they gave my debt to a collection agency overseas…they no longer have my debt so how can they collect on it…been calling the NRI and they don’t answer the phone and are stationed overseas…I have no prior notice of any of this.

Why are you all selecting option 1 when calling the offset line? It clearly states that option 1 is for business debts. Option 2 is for private debts that were incurred by an individual. So option 2 is the only one you should be checking unless you are a business owner.

I too have the topic 203 on WMR. No offsets on the hotline, none expected actually. I did use turbotax and paid with my refund. I have this on my transcripts
806 W-2 or 1099 withholding 04-15-2019 -$2,466.00
766 Credit to your account 04-15-2019 -$1,682.00
896 Overpayment Credit Offset 03-11-2019 $1,395.00
846 Refund issued 02-27-2019 $2,693.00So I had two months last year that I did not have health coverage (rest of the family did) due to changing jobs but turbo tax said there would be no penalty. On the return transcripts I see this
Healthcare: Individual responsibility……………..$1,395.00
Just curious if thats triggering this offset or whats going on here.

Same with me until I called back and pressed option 2 , whole refund amount taken. Now I’m trying to figure how to apply for a hardship

Make sure you check both opinions 1 & 2. I called option one said no offset option 2 gave me a offset to board of education. From past experience they pay the offset & send a paper check.

I don’t believe it will post to the transcript; two separate entities. IRS will process it, and the refund will be intercepted and the debt amount withdrawn. The remaining balance (if one) will continue to your bank account.

This is happening to me too. Did you have any bad codes on your transcript? I didn’t, so am at a loss. :-(

Also, if you are MFJ, use your spouse’s SSN. It will only state the debt for the associated SSN.
