      Hi, Has anyone received tax topic 151 with no reference code ?

      Tax Topic 151 message 2/23

      No movement since 2/23 & no letter from the IRS yet.

          I have seen people with the code say they received a reference number after a few weeks. I have the code too and am waiting for the letter in the mail.

              151 is really bad. From what im able to dig up, the irs has reason to believe you filed a fraudulent tax return. They will be sending you a letter in the mail asking you for the personal documents of your dependents. They will ask for school records, doctor records, birth certificates and social security cards. If you fail to provide them, they will strip you of those credits and you give you your tax return after tax season. They will also ban you from filing dependents again for 10 years. Good luck.
