      FYI:

If you have a 570 hold code there is some form of verification that is required. It could be wages, dependents or credits. These require a live agent to review and release.

In all instances you will receive a letter.

If it is as simple as wages – unfortunately you have to wait until your employer submits that information to the IRS.

Dependents or credits, they may ask for additional documentation.

It does not always take 45 days. It is possible for it to clear sooner.

You can get a Tax Advocate; however, be advised – if you cannot provide genuine proof of hardship.
Last year I lost my bars with the being process notice on wmr and 570 was on my transcript. I had to get a tax advocate to get my refund.

Jennifer, was your issue resolved? I’m going through a very similar situation. Wondering if there’s a problem because I had a corrected W2

Thanks for the info! Currently going through this. We have never before had an issue before this. Me and my husband filed and got accepted 2/1. Where’s my Refund changed to “STILL being processed” with tax topic 152 on 2/22.

I called the IRS today and the man told me that they received my return on 2/5. So that means that it’s barely going to be 21 days for us. He said he couldn’t check on my account until those 21 days pass. (So I am calling this Friday).

I had called last week and a lady actually looked my account up and told me we are under review and to give it 45 days STARTING 3/11. She said there was no reason given and she wasn’t sure what the reason was.

I have access to my transcripts and I can see that I have a 570 code- Additional Account Information Needed. I have not received a letter yet. But I bet it’s coming.

My guess, and I’m just speculating, is that that the issue might be my husband’s w2. For the year 2018 he had 3 w2’s in total.

When I log in to his Social Security account I can see wages for 2018 don’t add up. It says $19,896 (which adds up to 2 of his w2’s). It should actually say $40,981 (counting the third w2 that is not appearing). My guess is that the irs is seeing that what we claimed in our taxes, the 40k in wages, does not add up with what they are seeing, the 19k.

I will update here periodically and will let anyone out there know what is going on or if that was indeed the issue in hopes that this might help someone out there who will go or is going through the same issue.

How long did it take you last year with the tax advocate to receive funds ?
