Filed 1/20, accepted 1/20 (TT confirmed), irs reports accept 1/22, ID messages on site for transcripts. called the tax advocate line today since it has been 21 days and no updates, no bars on site for a while. Since I can’t see my transcripts online, she confirmed we are on a weekly cycle (05) and that we were being re sequenced. We didn’t qualify for a tax advocate because I didn’t have any hardship notices on hand to provide, but she confirmed for me that we should see an update by Friday. If not, we would then be able to call and get a TA assigned. This tells me that she sees we are completed processing and are just awaiting the weekly cycle update on Thursday night to show it. If it doesn’t show up on Friday, then we are eligible for the TA since the system isn’t correctly completing the return as scheduled, which is one of the IRS’s stipulations for TA qualifications. Hopefully any early filers like me stuck with weekly updates can expect this nightmare to be soon over!!

Edit: She also told me the IRS had about 1,000,000 early e-files that couldn’t be processed and we are definitely not alone. This should be the same situation for anyone with similar issues!!

I’m on the same ship that was sinking like everyone else. Filed the 16th accepted the 20th. Same story blah blah. Long story short, got 3 different answers to what was going on. I too got an advocate on Monday. And yesterday he called. Finally got a hold of him today. Super nice. Said there was a hold from 2013 for some identity crap which I don’t believe. He called me back just now and said he cleared up my name and so on and should release funds by the end of the month. Better then getting it in July if this comes true. Why do people who need the money the most seem to get screwed over it seems. I must call the transcript line every hour of the day. And nothing yet of course. Just pray it really hits the end of the month. So everyone on this sinking ship needs to call the advocate line. Even if you’re not in a hardship make up one. He never asked for proof of any kind. My advocate is out the Houston hub by the way.

@ Mina I called the Taxpayer Adovate line. If its been over 21 ddays they can assign you an TA and give you some insight as to what’s holding up your return. But if it hasn’t been 21 days you have to do a little prying from the IRS. Also the TA only helps if you have an hardship :(. Anyway the Taxpayer Advocate number is 1-877-777-4778. Just to be sure the IRS number is 1-800-829-1040 (1,2,2,4,1 are the prompts to reach a live human)

@ Mina I filed 1/20. WMR bars disappeared 2/2 and gave me the msg “Your refund is still being processed a date will be given when available” No transcripts or anything. After countless calls to the IRS getting no information. My WMR status changed this morning to “we have recieved your return and its being processed”. I called my advocate and she advised me that my refund was hung up due to verifying my info (I have a ID theft indicator) but someone got to my return and fixed whatever it was that was delaying it. She said it was corrected on the 10th. and now it looks like I will get my refund by next Friday (Thank God!) The wait is almost over folks. However she did say some people aren’t going to be handled as fast as mine. Some won’t get their refunds until after July.

I filed with TT on 1/20 and was accepted same day. No bars, no transcripts. I too called a Tax Advocate, but I have a disconnection notice for my electric and explained that to her. She said that she forwarded my case to a local advocate and they will call me sometime on the 13th. She told me I shouldn’t get my hopes up to see anything before then. She said some are under additional review, yet I never received a letter telling me that. Fingers crossed I’ll see something soon!

I was told the same basically the same thing. I have a hold and she said it should come off tomorrow. If I am not updated by friday to call back and I could get an advocate. But she stressed to me that the hold was coming off and I should have an update tomorrow

Well that seems like a bit of relief at least to hear that news. I’ve been patient about it and not complained and just check it everyday. Hopefully something happens here soon. I filed and was accepted on 1/30 with TT, N/A on my top 2 transcripts, bottom 2 are there but basically blank, 1 bar on wmr.
