      I called the 1-877 number last week. They ran over my problem found out that the system was picking up my maiden name and not my married name so it was kicked out. Issue was fixed and I was assigned a case number and given a number to call if I did not hear from anyone in 3 days. I have not heard from anyone, I’ve been calling the number they gave me, leaving messages and nothing. I called back the 1-877 number again yesterday and they said to wait, someone will call you. It’s been over a week, has anyone had to wait this long?

            I didn’t have to call them. They called me. You need to call the regular IRS rep and ask them to send a referral on your behalf for a tax advocate. Then they will get in touch with you pretty quickly

              Who did you call back? The 1-877 number?

                Call again, mine called me about 4 hours after I requested one.
