So in a nutshell IRS has screwed me. I filed 1/19 accepted the same day. Same job same dependents new address used original idpin provided due to previous id theft and input drivers license information as well. On Friday 2-5 I received a letter from IRS stating their records show i had received a premium tax credit from the healthcare marketplace and needed to file a form and claim the credit or i will no longet qualify for the upfront payment of the tax credit. And to allow 6-8 weeks from the time i submit the form for my return to be processed. One major problem…i never got healthcare from the marketplace in 2015 so I call the IRS….lady confirms that it is a system error and because she has no idea how to fix it she submitted my return to a tax advocate noted that it was indeed a system error and to push my return through as filed. She said the advocate would contact me within 48 hrs. She also gave me the advocate number. Has anyone had a positive outcome using an advocate? Realistically how long am I looking at for my return to be processed?
