I’m very confused and I’m not sure if any of the current threads address my situation. My husband and I efiled a very simple joint return on 2/22, it was accepted. The WMR bars disappeared and a Take Action see below for more information or whatever it says. Then there’s a message saying

We have received your tax return and it is being processed.

Any changes to the status of your refund will be provided here when available.

It’ll be 21 days this Saturday so I’m okay with waiting to see what happens if this is basically indicating that they haven’t finished processing it yet. But do I need to call? My SSA account has not updated with 2019 earnings yet. So I’m thinking they haven’t processed it but I still hadn’t seen anyone discussing what I’m seeing.

      Thank you!

Yet with all the fake calls trying to scam people, its a good thing in the end that they do this! Husband got a fake call the other day from fake fbi saying they found a car on the border with illegal stuff and it was in his name and want him to verify his s.s number!! Ok for one we can only afford 1 car !! Lmao, two.. they were forign and couldn’t pronounce last name and for three.. JUST REALLY.. OMG 😆 IDIOTS đŸ˜±

Not to mention, I fully understand the ID review and do not have an issue with that but no way, no how should it take that long if the filer has been filing for 20 years from the same address! Really..!

Having an ID verification 2 years ago after I broke down and called thats when they said I had to verify and a letter “would” be mailed! I just feel like when you call to inquire, thats when they select! Still Processing is the message I get this year, so I am just leaving it! Will get eventually! I had to wait somewhere until like June or august that other year and NOPE not calling!!

I would call because the IRS seems behind on processing even perfect returns. If you don’t find out what’s going on now they’re not going to tell you until a letter comes in the mail and some people don’t ever receive a letter even though action is required. This type of stuff delays taxes more than you’re reasonably willing to wait.
