I am a representative payee for my 13 yr old son who receives SSI. We already received our economic stimulus payment for ourselves and our other two kids but since my son gets SSI we cant claim him on our taxes so his amount wasn’t included in that deposit. My question is are we still getting the stimulus $ for him? And is it getting deposited in his SS account or coming through mail? There is no info for representative payees on the social security site.

I would call their corporate office and let them know that they have been nothing shy of screwing you over. Sounds like they owe you. SSI doesn’t get filed with the IRS therefore it isn’t considered income. So it baffles me they think that would be the correct way to do things.

Thanks for replying! I believe it is our H&R Block tax preparer who exempts him because he gets SSI.

Why can’t you claim him yearly? Whoever has told you that is misleading you. My daughter has been on SSI for 4 years and I claim her every year on my taxes.
