I filed 1/23 and don’t know what wmr did until 2/15, it could have had bars at some point but I never checked because I claimed credits. Since 2/15 it’s always said that my refund is being processed, no reference codes, nothing. I called on 2/24 and was told to check the mail for a letter. When there wasn’t a letter, she double checked something and just said they had problems processing my return but it wasn’t anything I did. She said wait 4 weeks and call back if no refund. This Friday makes two weeks and I need to pay people. Anyone in a similar situation able to get any traction any way? I’m tempted to call back and see if I get the same response or something different. I never got any letters and I check wmr every day to no avail.

Last Friday I was finally at least able to order both my account and refund transcripts. Unfortunately I had to order them by mail, so until they arrive, I have no idea whats in them. For all I know, they could be blank transcripts.

They told me for 3 weeks they mailed a letter. After 26 days I got a letter dated 3 days before I received it. Not trying to discourage any one just my experience so far they’ve had my tax return 30 days and not even a account transcript. For a $57 dollar difference because of 4 months of forced government insurance. Some thing has to give.

I also filed 1/23. I never had any bars, stuck on processing until I had to id verify on 2/21. Now I have been stuck at 1541 since then. No movement, no letters, no updates. I called last week and was told I was not under review, no issues, just waiting to be processed. I am not sure if I believe they actually checked when I called. I am beginning to think they just gave me a random, canned, answer. I don’t understand how people who filed weeks after me have a refund, people who ID verified after me have a refund. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to how the IRS operates. If the IRS was a private business, they would be out of business rather quickly if they continued to operate this way.

I had a similar situation. Filed 2/2 and accepted same day. No movement on wmr, was stuck on processing. No letter, no codes on wmr, nothing. Called irs after my 21 days and they told me there was a hold but couldn’t tell me why. Claimed hardship to get a tax advocate and she finally was able to tell me my employer claimed wages $300 more than my w2 showed. That was last Monday and she called me back today to let me know the irs adjusted it and I should see my refund by the 15th.l
If you’re able to prove financial hardship you should see about getting a TA, mine was super helpful and was able to get this resolved a lot quicker than the 6-8 weeks the IRS had initially told me.
