Anyone’s message say “still processing” with no update? Because mine does and I found out that means we’re practically fucked.

@ArmyMama
Don’t panic. This is strictly MY OPINION and theory, but I think this is our case;
The EIC and ACTC credit users were told “your return will not be reviewed until 2/15, your credits will not be released until 2/23 and deposited 2/27”
We cannot see our transcripts and it says “none on file” because they haven’t even touched our returns yet.
“Still being processed” means they are actually finally putting the return into the system.
The next big update is 2/23. So hoping Tues-Fri next week they do our returns and we get a DDD or 2/27.
This is simply my theory. I’m hoping I’m right

People are spreading false info , people who still got processing means u are processing . If OT was an issue it would be a code on wmr saying refund delayed . Also I know people who had still processing and got a ddd yesterday

@Zee68
I was accepted on the 28th also. I could order all of my transcripts only a week later. I got my return last year on 2/21 so I thought for sure my update was going to be yesterday. EITC. Guess we have no other choice but to wait until next Saturday.

The audit comment is incorrect
You wouldn’t be notified of an audit this quickly. IRS typically runs audits in the “off season” Aug-Dec

1/29 filed
1/30 accepted1 bar from 1/30 to 2/16
2/16 in the evening everything disappeared and I got the “your return is STILL being processed”
Transcripts for 2018 all say “no return filed” or “N/A”
This is ridiculous.

I had that last night around midnight, then it went back to “being processed”, the normal one, during the early morning update some time.
I won’t lie, it could be bad news, but no way to tell unless you call in–just ask if they are sending a letter or if everything is okay.
During 2016 filing (early 2017) it happened to me and it took til March 29 and a lot of faxing because a 1095A Obamacare document the healthcare company sent the IRS didn’t match the one they provided me. Hope you just update out of it!
Try not to sweat it because it is a strange year, fingers crossed for you.

Saw something about this on fb. There’s def a difference between the two, the first is good. The one that says still processing is usually bad

Mine says still processing, so we shall see what happens. Ive seen people who have had the still processing and just being processed message and there was not a difference in how they recieved their refunds. Both people I know from prior years got them in the correct time. I dont know anyone personally who had that message and had to do anything, they just got their monies. Of course this year might be different. Who knows till it happens. I just know im still getting the still processing message asking with TT 152 and my refund amount is still there. Im assuming if something happen I would have been notified already.

I tried calling and the IRS won’t give me info before 21 days. I should probably call another time and try to speak to someone else.

@Raven if it has been that long you should have received a letter by now. I’d call about that ASAP.

I found out directly from someone who works for the IRS that there is a difference between “is” processing and “is still.” Those who had just The is Processing are okay and getting it on the 22.
Those who have still processing have to ID verify or audited and will be notified by mail.
My taxes have said still processing since February 1st and I filed Jan 29. -

I just typed a long comment and it got lost–hate this forum sometimes. Anyway, try not to sweat it. My WMR said that last night, but this morning it updated to “being processed”. It scared me because the still processing happened to me in 2017 for tax year 2016 when healthcare company sent a 1095A to the IRS that did not match the one they provided me. Didn’t get refund until after a ton of calls, faxing, and long wait til March 29th, ugh!
As long as you don’t have anything like that, you should see another update, try not to sweat it too much.

Mine has not updated either I’m praying we will update before 12. But how does that mean we are screwed
-
February 16, 2019 at 11:17 pm #4274898Courtney
How so?
I mean, it sucks that people who filed after I did will come first when I thought that was the whole point to file ASAP was to receive my refund soonest possible. But that’s life..you are scaring me saying we’re screwed though, is there something I am missing?? -
