I filled on Wednesday 1/25 , still have not even been accepted. ..have always been accepted within 24 hrs in the past.
Anyone else having this problem?
This is a very long time to wait just to be accepted.
Makes me worry I put a number in wrong somewhere. :-/ -

PS: @Jay, I recommend paying the fees upfront if you can. Usually less of a headache and less wait overall to get your refund.

@Jay, I mean if the first one goes through after you file and are accepted with another tax preparer. Just wanted to clarify.

@Jay, the IRS should only accept 1 return. If the first one goes through, they should reject that one. Please double check with Tom by messaging @Tom to be sure.

I had fees taken from federal. But if i refile with a different prep service will it mess up my return at all?

The only upshot would be that usually when you file later you get your DDD much quicker than those who filed early, although that would be for those without the PATH Act.

If you have not been accepted or rejected you guys might just want to find another tax preparation service.
I know people who filed through TaxACT and were accepted immediately but I also know they paid a fee. Not sure if this is what is affecting the issue but it’s just a hunch at this point.

Just curious if all of those who went through Tax Act and we’re not accepted used the free file option?

I finally got ahold of someone atTaxact and they just tried spinning me saying i should receive my acceptance or rejection by the end of the week so i guess it takes taxact 2 weeks to efile yout returns to the irs, what a crock ,i would strongly advise everyone to never use taxact they are a joke and very uneducated

Wow, I filed on the 23rd and was accepted within 30 minutes. I am still processing, have been since the 23rd, which is odd since my wife is at 1 bar, even though we married and filed jointly., but acceptance was almost instant. I used HR Block.

Same here filed on 1/31 with TaxAct, and it still shows “awaiting IRS acceptance”. Only change I had this year was the Obama health care credit…haven’t been successful in contacting anyone at TaxAct or the IRS…
