STILL no update

I filed my taxes 6 hours ago and i STILL don’t have an update.

I’ve pulled my transcripts every 5 minutes since then and still NO DDD.

I’ve called the IRS 16 times and they say it’s STILL processing.

I worked 4 hours this year at a job so I could qualify for the EITC with 9 kids.

The IRS owes me a refund of $12,468

This is MY MONEY – why do they think they can hold MY money that I worked SO hard for!?!?

I’m right here with you, brother, hang in there. My boss laid us off three weeks before Christmas because the men in our union keep refusing to accept a contract that cuts our benefits and increases our insurance costs. So I’ve been promising my landlord that as soon as I have the money, I’ll catch up on my rent. On unemployment I can only afford about half of my bills. We’ve cut back where ever we can, but our kids have to eat. Foolishly, I believed that this years refund would be like past years, and I’d have everything taken care of by now or at least know when I could expect to. So, with no answers forthcoming from the bureaucracy, I found this place, where I can at least see that I’m not the only one struggling with this and share whatever answers and insight we can. If nothing else, it helps assuage some of the anxiety I feel about losing our home in the middle of winter, or coming home to the electricity being shut off.

Truth is, I too paid in less than I’ll get back this year, but I don’t feel bad. I Just remember that amazon made 5 billion dollars last year and paid 0 income tax.
