Was the Still Processing vs Is Processing meanings confirmed by the IRS? Just heard it was posted in another group by someone and people took it as fact. My friends mom is an IRS worker and told my friend that the “still” and “is processing” can mean anything and it doesn’t always mean ID verify. She said if it did, WMR would notify you or a letter by now it you filed in January. She said those message could be glitches, errors, or reshuffled. She said that just because you have “still” doesn’t make it bad, and she doesn’t understand why that’s going around. Where did the IRS verify that the “still” message is bad?

Raven I’ve not seen anything about a news release. I’ve stated fact based on my own experience. Ask your mom friend about this 1541 bullshit if ya wanna be helpful.

“STILL” might be for people who filed more than 21 days ago. It’s probably resequenced is all because I’D verify people have gotten codes and stuff on WMR.

I think a lot of people are jaded from previous experiences. I had a still processing in tax year 2016. I had a 1095A issued to me that was different than the one the IRS received from the healthcare company. Because of the mismatch, small ones like which months we had insurance, I had the still processing message and ended up getting a letter. I had to fax my copy and some forms in, and I didn’t get our refund until March 29th. It’s just a big yellow flag and people are nervous.

People are also claiming the IRS released a press release about the “Still” message. Never happened. https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/news-releases-for-current-month
