I knew that the state was going to take what I owed in back pay, which I was fine with since it’s money I owe and while I have my daughter more than her mother, I know she would at least spend it on our kiddo. So anyway, state took what I owed and gave me the remainder.

And this morning when SBTPG finally updated it showed my expected amount (the correct amount) and then then the received amount…which was exactly short the exact amount I owed in CS. Is this typical? You would think that they would realize it’s already been paid.
I know I need to call them but I want to wait until my money hits (tomorrow). I know that it’s highly unlikely that they would do anything to delay my return but waiting a day won’t hurt. I’m fairly certain the Treasury already disbursed my return since the TT bank has it.

      Any thoughts?

I got hit twice for an offset this year. They put it under my social and my husbands. Now we have to wait til April for a refund from the county. They probably put yours under state and federal and it hadn’t cleared in their system as paid yet. It can take up to 4-6 weeks for it to clear then they have 10 days to issue you a refund

Same Thing happened to me and I called my state tax office which is in Georgia by the way and they told me that unfortunately there was a glitch in the system that’s some people were paying double payments however once they receive the payment from the IRS they will refund you back whatever the overpayment is. 😒😒😒 Sucks
