@Anna
My CA state refund was authorized on 4/27 and I haven’t seen it yet either. Does authorized mean it’s sent out? I’m unsure what it means. Ugh this is ridiculous. I’m hoping for something maybe Monday or Tuesday. We’ll see I guess. Well keep me updated!

I was advised my refund was authorized and processed on Wed, 4/26. No DD yet and my bank deposits pretty quickly. Surprised so many of you having to also wait past 3 days frustrating :(

Received a letter in the mail this past Saturday to confirmed I did file a California State Return, I signed and fax it to the number provided. Just check the site and it still showing 3 month hold, been waiting for my California State since 1/24 after it was accepted. Has anyone else received a letter in the mail to clarify you file a 2016 State Return ?

I filed feb 17, accepted feb 17 and today is Mar 10 and I still see on the FTB website that it can take up to 2 months. I e-filed. To me, this is ridiculous

This is crazy, why in the hell does mine says it can take up to 3 months for processing? Been waiting since 1/24. I even called them and all they said was there was nothing wrong with my State Return, it simply just has to go through the agencies before it’s approved with IRS being one of them. So what are the other agencies? I don’t have any kids, no EIC and I don’t owe any taxes. Before moving to California last year, I never had any issues getting my State when I lived in NY. This is just another added reason why I hate living in California and can’t wait to move back to NY.

Authorized: February 25I have yet to receive my state refund. When I check FTB, It says it can take up to ten business days.
Anyone get a DD before the ten business days?
-
March 3, 2017 at 5:06 pm #4188790JP
I mailed it in and it was received on Feb. 28.
Said it could take up to 4 months to get the return.
Is that real or can/should I expect it to take less time?

I tried to create a login the other day and it says it needs to mail me a pin 🙁
-
February 7, 2017 at 4:00 pm #4161368
I received my refund last night at midnight. I was expecting it tomorrow but I’m glad it came today. I would create an account and log onto Ftb to see if any notices were sent out if not I wouldn’t worry it should be coming any day now.

I was authorized on 2/1/2017 but I am not expecting anything until Wednesday morning. I know some people with netspend cards get paid 2 days earlier.

I filed 1/31/2017 around noon on Ftb website. I was authorized 2/1/2017 with the message saying please allow ten business days to recieve by direct deposit. When I log into my Ftb account it list all my previous returns and my old ones. Next to each it will say if it’s processed and if they sent a notice out. I know someone said they got a message saying please allow 3 months from the date they filed for processing, I would log into my Ftb accountk or create one if you haven’t already and see if they have issued any notices. But for everyone else who has been auth already I know some said on 1/25/2017 they where authorized so this Wednesday 2/8/2017 you should receive your deposit if not sooner.even though I was just authorized on 2/1/2017 I’m expecting my refund on Wednesday also because I normally receive my refund within seven days from the date that I file.

Still have the same message. Anyone else? If yours changed, how long did it take? How many days? It’s getting annoying.

@pink if you do call please post what they say. im at work so i cant call but i would be interested in what they say. i did a chat yesterday with the state. they cant check over chat because they cant ask for info because its not secure but they said that authorized means its been looked at everything is good dont mean they sent it means you will receive within 10 buss days. so if you do call please post and tag me in post.
-
February 3, 2017 at 12:49 pm #4157969Piink
@kandi ugh me too. I’m seriously tempted to call them. I just saw where someone was authorized 1/27 and got their money 2/1. Maybe it’s an amount thing? Smaller ones being released quicker maybe?
-

@kandi I was wondering the same thing. But I also watch the IGMR Facebook page and people have been getting their CA refunds everyday of this week. It’s agonizing.

@Christina…I had that message yesterday. Up til then I had a message that said they didn’t even have record of our return (even tho we filed on 01/27 and had confirmation that it was accepted). So, anyway, yesterday I had the same message you are asking about and and only 24 hrs later (today) I woke up to my refund being approved and a message that it should be in my account within 10 days.
Last year Ca never did tell me anything more than they didn’t have record of our return and yet our refund was in our account about a week after we filed! I always seem to stalk the WMR sites even tho, more often than not, they have been completely off as far as our family’s info goes. Again, last year, the federal WMR updated a WEEK after we got our refund deposited to let us know it was approved and on it’s way.

I filed via Credit Karma on 1/25 and it hasn’t even been accepted yet. Last year when using Turbo Tax I received my state refund a week prior to my federal.
I won’t be using Credit Karma any more. Even though I pay a bit it worth it for the fast service and peace of mind.

My story, filed 1/23, federal accepted 1/24 and state accepted 1/27. Received federal in my account on 1/30 for DDD 2/1 ( My bank is very cool, they always release deposits the moment they get it and don’t hold it like most major banks ) I just check on my CA State and it says it was received 1/24 but it needs more time for processing, give them 3 months to process…UGHH!!!!!

January 31, 2017 at 5:41 pm #4156002
@rytrblk – I’m sorry. I misspoke. You can only request transcripts for Federal.
-
January 31, 2017 at 1:09 pm #4155856rytrblk
@Anna…I wasn’t aware that you could request transcripts from the CA Franchise State Tax Board. How do you do that? Thanks!
-
January 31, 2017 at 1:06 pm #4155852Laura
@Anna
I filed single, no children or eic. But I do have the American Opportunity Education Credit on my Federal Return. I only made a little under 16k.
Thanks for answering me :) -

I’ve been getting the same message since our return was accepted:
We received your 2016 California Income Tax return on: Monday, January 16, 2017.

Is this a generic message? Or does this mean it’s been pulled for review?

Hi Everyone,
I’m new to this site and wanted to ask a question. I filed on 1/14 and I have no update on my federal refund, but checked the status of my state (Cslifornia) refund, and it’s showing “refund was authorized in Wednesday, 1/25”. The refund will be deposited into my account, but does anyone know about how long this takes?
-
January 26, 2017 at 11:21 am #4153057
@Misty Patch – I use a local community bank. Everything gets processed quicker with them. :)
@Cheryl – I was updated on the system on 1/18, before the 1/23 filing date. Took me by surprise, but I’m happy. :)@Tylia – I still have one bar on my Federal taxes and don’t expect more than that until Mid-Feb. I filed HOH, EIC & Child Tax Credit. With state, once you get approved you should see your refund deposited within 10 days.

No fees
I have EIC & Child tax credit. Last name change, new address, new baby and school credit 😊I had one bar and then it disappeared and all it said was “Your tax return is still being processed.
A refund date will be provided when available.
Anyone dealing with this?

I’m pretty sure New Jersey won’t be issuing any refunds until 3rd week of February, which is a bunch of garbage in my opinion.
