State audited me. Is it likely the IRS will, too? I got the letter today from state. This the first year I’m filing self employed only. Ffffuuuuuccccckkkk. I don’t mind proving my income, but if this pushes back my refund I’m going to be pissed.
Filed/accepted 2/25
WMR showed 1 bar until 2/29 then bars disappeared and I have the “still processing” message now.

I got audited by state 2 weeks ago . Was told over the phone what I needed to fax in never got letter in mail . State was approved today . 2 days I received a letter from IRS requesting health forms 8962 , but no audit . Faxed in forms yesterday . Spoke with rep today and she said as soon as they are processed I will see movement on my wmr or transcripts

@manpower, you should’ve known there would be trouble with your income 16,660 (666). It’s always been a bad omen for me. Not trying to make light, but a boyfriend totaled my car years ago and before I left it was 66.6 degrees. Just gather your papers and deal and don’t tell irs if they dont ask

I have a DDD of 3/4 for federal but state is still processing. Wondering if they’re auditing me as well. But if so, federal did not follow suit. I am also only self employed but this is my 3rd yr of that.

Yes and yes. Expect the worst. There’s another couple people here posting that this happened to them and they stated that the state notified federal and put you them in a “critical review” pile that often requires a lawyer. Make sure you have $5,000 on hand for a retainer.
