I filed last week, 1/19.
I just received an email from FreeTax USA that my South Carolina return was accepted. I know that they said they will not begin accepting returns until the 29th, but apparently they are doing test batches or something. -

Deposit date of 2/3/23 but my bank releases funds earlier ! Good luck to you all I would say to expect a refund about 6 buissness days after acceptance! That’s pretty fast based off the previous years -
Update. I always used the DOR site and never where’s my refund. Checked it today though and it shows generic message but my refund hit my card at 12:29 today. Minus the small offset.

Cassie & Bee…I didn’t update either. I was accepted 1/24, I received the text from the software I used on that day that it was accepted, on Mydor the process date is 1/24. But, oddly, I got an email yesterday afternoon from the tax software I used that South Carolina accepted my return…???? I thought for sure I’d update last night, and that the email meant that somehow the state sends confirmation to the software that the return is completely processed. Wrong :(

Last year mine hit on a Tuesday as well around 11:53 am. My deposit date was that Wednesday, but I got it a day early on my chime card. I have hope for today since i was approve on 1/25 step 4 of 4. I will update here if it comes today.

@Nabdul. I don’t know where the steps would be. I only check MYDOR where it shows my amounts and possible offset with gear and any correspondence sent to me. But it shows movement.

Also. The offset letter shows the amount sent to me after the $77. So its not at 0 because of the offset. Just adding that in.

I too am still on step 4 and nothing loaded onto my prepaid debit card… Cash app is what I use last year and this year. Last year I got my refund one week exactly from when it was step four of four or approved. It hit my account at about 12 PM on a Tuesday.

Ok, this my scenario that I came up with. I’m assuming but I’m not sure this year they only update on Tues night and Wednesday night. Mine is still at 4of4 approval since Wed night with no date as of yet, and my daughter has the generic message. I too have the on-time process under returns. I was already approved so maybe tomorrow night. My daughter also has Credit in green in and balance in green as well.

No, I have not. I was approved with step 4 of 4 on 1/25 as well. Hopefully, soon with a date it was sent. last year it took mine 6 days. I’m confused on what days or night they update now. Is it just on Wednesdays? I guess we see in the next couple of days. I know previously it was every night.

No update for my daughter last night. even though their site says they update every evening. My daughter and I was assuming as I stated before that they update on certain days this tax season and not every day anymore. We decided that we will keep checking every night to see the pattern of which night they actually update and keep notes for next year.

Yes, I was trying to find my notes because every year I write down my date I file, date accepted, date of approval, date of direct deposit from state site, and when it was received on my chime card. I’m thinking it posted a day before the state direct deposit date last year. I always use my chime card especially during tax time. I like the early deposits.

The DOR i formed me today that they are not yet issuing refunds. The date she gave was the 7th – not sure if that meant FOR the 7th (which means some could see by the 4th or 5th) or not starting UNTIL the 7th.
I had seen someone else post the same thing in the past few days either here or the live chat. I did not inquire about a date, she provided it when I was making sure something else had been completed properly and successfully.

Hey y’all. I filed on April 15th. I waited the 8 weeks before calling. June 10th made 8 weeks. When I called they told me to give it another week. My status FINALLY moved to step 4 yesterday (Friday June 11th,2021). I hope it shows up in my account next week. This is very sad. It’s never taken this long. There can’t be that much fraud in one state for them to be holding up people’s money like this.

This year was awful for state refunds. We called after it had been on step 4of4 for a few days and asked when they thought a deposit date would be and they said it could be 6-8 weeks so they wouldn’t tell us anything other than the standard line they give everyone. My status didn’t update until today and it said deposit was sent 3-2 so they don’t even update until the day they send it. Good luck everyone hopefully yours will come very soon. I know it’s stressful.

The rep on the phone last week told me on Thursday, that if I did not have my money by Monday today then to call them back. I did just that and got a woman saying well it was just approved on Wends. I already received my state refund but wanted to help the ones waiting. From my past experiences early cards holders that deposit early will get theirs Friday evening or Sunday night. The refund status should change overnight Friday into Saturday with Monday direct deposit date. This is only from experience so it may have changed since things change every year.

I’m in steps 4 of 4 and I was under the impression that I would be getting my state refund as a direct deposit, but for whatever reason my bank info didn’t transfer over so I’ll be getting a paper check or debit card in the mail. @kaci congratulations on your federal. I had an offset for state so it read an adjustment has been made with your refund. A letter has been mailed. With federal I’m weekly so I have to wait until Friday to see my transcript.

Ok, I believe I figured out where my state refund is and why I don’t have it and won’t be getting it… Being the fact I was issued my state refund first h and r block took out the fees, emerald advance and the partial instant refund I received the day I filed that I forgot I opted for, from that amount. I hope this helps others. I’m just glad I finally figured it what was going on.

Katie I know of two other people with a ddd of 2*14 that still haven’t gotten their money either. The tax office said it could take 6 -10, business days to be processed through your bank. With the weekend and the holiday it’s only been 5 bank business days since our ddd. I know this is VERY frustrating but you’re not the only one. And the issue date is just when they give the o.k to release the funds on their end. Some may get them quicker than others depending on your bank.

So just an update, I file my taxes through my tax preparer, and because my state came in 1st, they deducted my fee from that. So that’s that :)

Hi everyone, I filed on 2/4 and both my state a federal we’re accepted on 2/4. However when I check the DOR website for my state refund it is still saying 6-8 weeks. By this time last year I already had my state refund…I understand that the federal may be delayed as it was last year but does anyone know what is going on with the state refund this year? I’m sure I should have at least moved to the next step by now.

You should’ve seen some type of movement if it’s been 2 1/2 weeks since your state was accepted. @Shana an Katie it might be because of the holiday if 14th was the ddd they gave you then it should definitely be in you bank pending late tonight or early in the morning. I would call or check with bank to see if anything is pending

I can tell you that I filed on the first and was accepted on the first and then I didn’t check mine until Wednesday or Thursday of last week and to my surprise it was at step 4 of 4. However I have no idea when I actually went into that step because I didn’t check til then. Anyway, I finally got my dad in my account today and later tonight the site finally caught up and said that my dad was on its way for the 14th. I think I was at step 4 of 4 for many days before I knew it so I think you should be getting yours by the beginning of the week. Just based on what I’ve heard and seen on here I bet that’s what will happen. Hope you get it soon, I’m sure you will.😊

My guess is unless there is a problem with your return you probably wont see any message at all -

Nope. Today is my 1 week mark at 4 of 4. I actually called and they told me that it really just means that all the info is correct and we have been entered into the system for processing. She told me that the timeline was for 6-8 weeks. That it may not take that long but that’s the time we need to allow for it. She said nothing was wrong but it just takes time to process. Crazy if you ask me. I am still waiting.

Pete yours should definitely be coming anytime now. Maybe check with your bank to see if you have anything pending. I got my federal yesterday and it still doesn’t say that I should have it online. I filed on the 1st and have been in step 4 of 4 since this time last week also with no change at all. I’m super frustrated as well so I understand. In past years I usually would receive my state first so they are being super slow this year. They certainly wouldn’t allow us to take our time getting them money if we owed them. I think they should have to pay us interest for everyday past the few days it says it should’ve taken. But nope, we have no option but to sit and wait for them to take their time, ugh😐

filed using freetax on the 6th and this past weekend i could see a green balance and a credit reflecting the amount i paid this year for taxes in mydorway , even though the refund status says 6-8 weeks and no step number. indicating where i am in the process.
and then this morning, the credit is gone. No green balance…just balance $0.00 right beside the individual tax record on the bottom of mydorway page of my account.
I checked with freetax and no problems. it was accepted on the 6th and i opted to have it put in my credit union account via DD as I always do.
I checked with my CU and no pending deposits .
Anybody have a clue wtf is going on before i have to call one of the mean old tax ladies on the phone? I dont owe anything so i dont know why the balance is zero now.. -
Megan, yes that’s what I told them when I called. I told the lady I was concerned because the expected time that you are supposed to be on step 4 is only a few days. How can you go so quickly through the other steps to get stuck on the last one and supposedly shortest step for so long? They’ve always been very quick in the years past and much more helpful. I was hoping to get some update tonight but nope still the exact same spot waiting still, ugh!

I learned a long time ago not to even bother calling state or the IRS about refunds during tax time unless you absolutely need to because most of them are rude for no reason and they laugh in your face it seems like they get a kick out of you trying to figure out what’s going on with your refund smh I will keep you guys posted if anything changes

Amanda, you don’t have to create an account to check your refund status. Just go to the individual option and then down to where’s my refund. It’ll ask you for your social and then your refund amount. That’s when it will show you where you are at in the refund process.

Amanda once you click check refund status and you put in your ss# and refund amount then click search it should tell you what step you’re on. Some will still say the 6-8 weeks to process message don’t be alarmed if yours say this mine did at first it should update within a few days or so

Megan I’m literally in the exact same situation as you are. I also filed on 2-1 and was immediately accepted. I was excited last week to see that I was on step 4 of 4 and was thinking that i would see a date to expect my refund soon but as of today I’m still in the exact same spot. I’m still at step 4 of 4 with no more info. I called on Friday just to be laughed at and told basically they wouldn’t talk to me unless I had been waiting for 6-8 weeks. I’m very frustrated!

It’s so weird, because my fiance file after me; I filed on the 01/28 and he filed on 02/01, he received his state on 02/02 while we were away. Mine JUST went to 4of4 on friday, so hopefully I will hear something, btw, he filed w/ TT and I filed through a tax preparer. Maybe that makes a difference too

@Amber that’s exactly what we said to them when we called today that their website even says a few business days and she said they are only allowed to say 6-8 weeks. We filed on 1/29 accepted 1/30 then approved 2/1.

Hey I’ve been on step 4 of 4 since Monday no update called today only heard could take 7-14 days I asked was there a hold on money she said no shouldn’t be pending absolutely no help. Does everyone’s have a notice at the bottom saying it can be taken to pay off debts? So i called and the first rep said im still in processing and had a date for 2-3-2020(wtf) i told her no i spoke to someone on tuesday because the money was not in my account yet and that they took the date off of the site that they had for me on monday. I called and the rep who answered sounded like she wasn’t going to be helpful, so I hung up, and called back. I told the rep I was able to see that I was approved on Saturday, and a date would be available later, but checking between today and yesterday, it doesn’t have any record of my return. The rep stated their system and website is going through a few changes, that they’re trying to adjust. She said it could be within a few days for the deposit, but she didn’t give an exact date. She said people typically receive it within 3-5 days of being approved, but it can take up to 7-14 days, depending on if anything changes, such as offsets appears.

Well I called at 8:30 a representative picked up at 2 rings. They will not let you know anything they just stick to saying allow 6 to 8 weeks to process. She did tell me it was no issues or offset. I really wanted her to tell me when was my direct deposit date 😅

As of 4:30pm, my state status changed to accepted. However, at the same time, the myDORway email I sent earlier was responded to saying “We are unable to find your 2019 return at this time.”
So I asked if it was a coincidence or if my return had been found after all.. seems like the portals and systems will tell you one thing and the people doing the work will tell you another.

After the credit disappear it will tell you in summary whether the amount change for a offset or it will go to zeroes if the refund is approved I called today an the nice lady told me they released my refund been waiting sense the 25th

I received my federal tax return and Georgia state return a month ago. My state was accepted three days ago and I just got a notice in the yesterday for an Individual tax return verification request. I set up a mydorway account and send them a question through it but now I am having repeated problems trying to log in to check there response. My return was and still is scheduled on turbo tax to reach my account on March 15 which since it has not been deposited and its March 25th I am guessing that is incorrect. I have done my own tax return for years and have never had a problem before. This is my first year filing South Carolina. Is it usually this problematic?

I just talked to a lady at the SC department of revenue and she told me that my refund is still being processed but the website says it’s approved. Im so confused. It’s been at stage 4 of 4 since Thursday.

I had this as well. I emailed it to them last Thursday and received an email saying they got it. As long as everything checked out to allow 48 hrs to update. Tuesday I was updated to step 4 of 4. I’m just waiting on the dd now.

@JNikki….I received a letter today in the mail and it was an identity verification notice….it says we are holding you r 2018 refund until you verify your identity…it told me to go to dor.sc.gov/verifycode and enter the verification code on the letter…I did and it says they received the necessary information and I would receive my refund within 2 weeks..

@Rob if the numbers are green on mydorway they have it and it’s being process when the balance goes to zero in black you’re finished and should expect a refund soon. I was having the same issue called and spoke to an agent then today I have refund approve step 4 of 4….waiting on deposit date now.
From what I am reading another week for DDD -
Update. Somehow the “issue paper check” was checked on my state return. My message on “where is my refund” was “sent on 2-12-19”. Called agent and he pointed out my error of requesting a paper check. I didn’t even know this. So check your refund just in case to make sure you opted for direct deposit.

Accepted on 2/4/19. Nothing was showing up on myDORWAY so sent a message regarding the status of my refund and suddenly green numbers with my refund balance and credit appeared and it says on-time processed. On the refund application status page it still says the generic 6-8 weeks. Does this mean it has finished processing, or have they just not updated it?

Accepted via e-file on 2/4. Federal approved and DD’d today. Sc dor says 6-8 weeks still and called today and they gave me the same rsxponse. Automated call service said it hasn’t been processed. Really need the money by March 5th to pay rent. (Missed work from sickness) I also had the student tax credit, so maybe that adds time? Any ideas?

Just an FYI to anyone who got a tax advance check, if you got an advance and your State Check comes first they will take your State to repay the advance. So you may see that it was deposit on so and so date, and dont see it in your account and that is ehy because it was used to pay back towards your refund advance. I am a Tax Preparer which is how I know this information and have had oit happen to my clients. Say you got a $1000 Refund Advance and your State check was $800, and your State was released first which if you have to wait until February bc of certain credits for your Federal you probably will get your State first, then they eill apply the $800 to Bank fees and refund advance and take the remainder out your federal or if your state was enough to cover it then you wont owe anything else out of your Federal.

For those worried about letters requesting additional information, you can create an account at https://mydorway.dor.sc.gov/ to view your account. It also shows your balance for the tax year. Much more helpful than the ‘check status’ tool when you’re just getting the dreaded ‘6-8 week’ message.

Also, I use chime & they deposit early so I’m sure all of us that’s step 4, we will probably update tomorrow for a Monday ddd. So if you have a bank/prepaid card that doesn’t deposit early, you may have to wait until the actual ddd.

from my knowledge, I file on the 26 of January. look on state refund last Saturday, February the 2,was on step 4 of 4. money was deposit in my bank yesterday 2/6. so I think it take about 4 or 5 days. hope this help someone.

And for the w2 request, at the time they requested it, I didn’t know I had an offset. I found out Monday when I called to see if they processed my return after getting my w2. I asked them was my refund the same amount & that’s when the rep told me part of it was being offset. If you can, email them your w2, they will process that day or the next of it’s late in the day when you send it.

I didn’t have any problems with them giving me information. I found out through them that I needed to send in my w2. I found out today that mine will be offset due to an ambulance bill from 2016. I’m hoping my status will update on the website to step 4 one day this week.

my state was accepted on 01/23. I decided to call them today because I noticed a lot of people that filed after me is already on step 4 or has received their deposit. The rep didn’t want to look in my account at 1st & just gave me the 6-8 waiting time message. that’s when I told her I feel like something is wrong because people that were accepted this week are getting updates but mine wasn’t. She looked in my account & said a letter was sent on the 29th requesting my w2 to verify my withholdings. I was able to email it to them & was told it would be processed today. The rep said to expect a refund within 10 business days. I hope the website updates tonight & I see something besides the 6-8 weeks message. if not then I will have to wait until Monday to see if I get an update.

someone in the forum received this letter a couple of weeks ago they didnt know about it until DOR told them they sent a letter. I’m no expert but IMO its the letter to verify who you are.
This is what I found on the state site regarding this
New from the SCDOR: Identity Verification Quiz and Individual Code Verification. The SCDOR has implemented new security measures to ensure that fraudsters are not using your information to file a false return and steal your refund. You may receive a letter from the SCDOR asking you to visit MyDORWAY to complete one of these verifications after filing your return. This is just another step we are taking to keep your information private.
I know someone who got the letter too and once they completed the link the credit zeroed out and they got DD the next week.
check that mailbox it should not take 14 days to get that letter from Columbia surely!
Hang in there their message to you gave reason to be positive. “Please respond to this letter so we may continue processing your return.”

As of last week, my return was held for verification, I submitted all docs on Thursday, today my refund was increased and dropped to a 0 dollar balance and status changed to refund processing.

Did you create a MYDOR maybe the correspondence will be listed on there too? Hopefully its just a verify who you are letter. previously someone posted receipt of a letter asking to verify his/her identity.
I would definitely check MYDOR tabs to see if it listed there possibly. Waiting on any type of notification can be stressful.

If mydorway is still showing green, that means you’re still processing. When it shows a zero balance, they are done processing. The zero balance means they are processing your refund for payment. The site may not update. As mine is stuok on refund is being processed.

I think the on time processed means the return for 2017 was filed on time before the deadline of April 2018 and nothing more IMO.
Seems to me you may want to call if the status is “not processing” since Jan 31st?!

I don’t get what’s going on with SDOR this year. I filed on 2/3 and was accepted on the same day. At first I had a message in blue saying they received my return but it hasn’t been processed yet and now it’s saying “The information provided indicates that there is not a refund in progress at this time. Please note refund status becomes available when your return is processing, not necessarily when we receive your return” South Carolina is the worst this year. This is now officially week 4 and nothing.

I feel your frustration! I emailed and asked about the status of mine accepted 2/7/18. I received a generic response that the average processing time is 3-4 weeks please allow processing.
If I wasn’t afraid they would hold my refund hostage- I would ask how can I become above average like 90% of the people who received theirs in 10 days- 2weeks!

Surely the few complaints posted here are not the majority we cant be the only few affected by this. I filed 2/6 accepted 2/7 status changed last Friday 2/23 to being processed. Remains the same today. I did email this morning to ask someone to check the status. I know at least 4 people personal that filed after me and have received their check. Something is off this year! Maybe they are going by Head of household first or something

Oh, I don’t know if I made it clear in my previous post, but when you call, do NOT select option 2 (refund status) or you will be hung up on. Select option 1 (billing) to get a rep.

Called yesterday morning at 8:30, chose option 2 then option 1 for billing. Got a person on the phone within 5 minutes of holding.
After giving them my info and letting them know it’s been 4 weeks, she told me that the return had been received and she would send an email to expedite my return.
Checked the refund status page and it’s now showing up as “Your South Carolina Individual Income Tax return has been processed. Your refund is now being processed.”

I was on hold for 6 hours (Yes, I listened to that awful flood message the whole time) I just carried my phone around work with me listening to it. Before finally, it hung up out of no where. I called back at 8:30 on the dot the next day got someone on first ring. I think at&t was having problems that day so I can’t say for certain it was their call center or maybe my phone. At least I am hoping they are not that incompetent. If they are its a wonder anyone gets a refund. So I paid PMI on my home and congress renewed the tax law that allows deduction of that, now I get to file an amended return.

Last year 2 friends of mine used J.H. and they had the exact same extremely last state tax refund. So this year they went to HRBlock and I went to JH.{because i moved and JH is next door} and they already got their return and Im the one still waiting. ANTI-JACKSONHEWITT.

Ok, accepted 1/26, still not processing. Easy return, dd, efiled. I have tried calling 3 seperate times holding for up to an hour because a girl’s got work to do. I am beyond furios at this wait and want to know the hold up. Any one accepted a while ago that is still not in process gotten through to scdor on the phone? I finally got my DD. I checked the status of my refund online out of curiosity and it says: “Your SC State Individual Income Tax Return has been received, but your refund has not yet been issued.” However, the refund is in my bank account as of 3:00 p.m. EST. Filed 01/19, accepted 01/30, DD 02/13.

I checked to see if my state refund status was updated from your refund has been processed and it has, but now it says your refund has been received but not issued.

The new message is due to so many people asking why they are receiving a message that says processed and online it says processing. No change. They just tweaked the message to make people happy that were waiting. They stated that the reason there was a conflicting message was processed online meant your return was processed. On the phone system, processing meant that you were waiting for them to process the return.

Filed and accepted 2/1. Status showing processed since 2/6, no DDD. Received a letter for an offset (medical bill) for portion of refund on 2/8. The letter was dated 2/6 and showed the remainder amount to be refunded. Still no deposit and status online still says tax refund has been processed.

Once approved, it takes up to two weeks to receive your funds. Per the lady I just spoke with. Approvals don’t start until 2/1, so you could be seeing deposits this week. They make deposits daily, they don’t only do it one day per week. Hope this helps everyone.

My return was processed on 2/8. Now I see this at the bottom of the message saying my return was processed. Does everyone see this with a processed return or should I be worried? It wasn’t there before:
“NOTE: The South Carolina Department of Revenue is authorized to seize refunds otherwise due to taxpayers who have delinquent debts with the South Carolina Department of Revenue, Internal Revenue Service, other government agencies and public or private institutions of higher learning. Should this occur, you will receive a separate letter providing details.“
I’m certainly not aware of having any debts to the state. Makes me a little nervous?

I think waiting on state is worse. At least with federal I know where I stand. I’m in the wait until after the 15th. With the state, the online says processed, but the phone says processing. No change. I was accepted on 1/31.

I filed my taxes on the night of 1/25 through TurboTax. My state was accepted on 1/29. The SC refund site has been saying processed for days now but no direct deposit date. I’m hoping to get mine tomorrow morning after an earlier person said theirs was accepted on the same day as mine and they got their deposit on 2/7. If not tomorrow, then I’m hoping no later than next Wed, 2/14.

@SC I called this morning and went to the Mydorway option instead of the refund status. I explained to the agent….I use to see my refund amount but now I don’t which is true. She then explained to me she sees it on her end, put me on hold and came back a few minutes later. She advised me I am finished processing I am just waiting for my refund to be approved. So I ask how long does it normally takes. She then advise me I should see and update sometime next week.

Last year the page said info updated daily at noon about refunds this year it just says updated daily but I don’t know if that’s overnight or still at noon. Mine has said processed for about 4 days now. I saw on there Facebook page where they said it changes to processed and then it will say refund issued within the 3 to 4 weeks. Last year most people saw on feb13th that it updated to a direct deposit date of 2/17. I don’t know why it takes them so long.

Hey guys just an update I did call this morning and I did not get the it’s still processing from the representative she actually told me that return looks good. She also stated that in 3 to 4 weeks I should see my refund. I did act as if though I thought I offset was going to happen and she told me that there’s nothing wrong with the returns in there are no offsets and my refund will be going out as soon as they release their refunds.

I received the same message this morning. When I called, they told me it would be about two weeks. When I told him that I just wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong with the return, he just told me he understood. When I called the automated number, it says it’s still being processed. I’m assuming there’s some glitch giving out that message.

@WaitingInSCAgain I got the call message as well, and I called this morning. It was taken due to a hospital bill from North Carolina for my husband. This is BS. We haven’t even gotten a bill from the hospital that took the taxes. I asked the representative and she said they should have sent something before intercepting our refund. @jo …. Probably not. :-) The SCDOR website doesn’t update to received and processing until they actually begin processing your return. I didn’t get any type of update showing mine had been received for a couple of weeks. I guess that’s just how they operate. Hang on in there!

Well being that the letter had the auditor info I used it to my advantage and ask my questions. She have advised me to wait 7-10 days to rec’d my refund.
That’s good news for me as it’s not as long of a delay I thought it would be. -
Ro, last year was my first time filing in SC and they sent me a letter to verify my identity and send my w-2 and all that. Idk how long it will take because last year the refunds were delayed until March 1 so I had to wait regardless of the letter.

This is my 1st year filing for SC State, the person I had to send my info to is an Auditor.

Call SC DOR today spoke to a female who was really nice and helpful.
She advised me that was finished processing on 2/7….but I don’t have a DDD as of yet.
She said my DDD says “issue date is processing”. She advised me I should expect to have a DDD around 13-16 of this month. She advised me to call back on Monday I should have a DDD issue by then.

I read on a fb tax page that SC wmr doesn’t tell you anything untilit’s been at least 10 days. I believe it’s true because Tuesday was my 10th day and that’s when it updated to says that it’s processing. I filed through tt on 1/20 and was accepted on 1/26.

Tara, WMR is the place to check on your federal refund. They don’t know anything about your State refund, you should be checking the SC DOR website for that.
Are you sure you received the SC refund, which is what we’re discussing here, or was it the federal one?

My WMR updated today to say I’ve been processed and my return is on its way as of 2/6. It’s just odd because I received it Friday. Praying yall get your updates and refunds very soon!

@Megan: I agree. I find it somewhat funny that they made a big deal about saying there were no delays this year. I remember when I would get the state refund before the federal refund. I guess that is not happening this year.

@Ro: I am glad you got to speak to someone who actually pulled up your info. I had the feeling the person I spoke with did not want to be bothered. Hopefully you will hear something soon. So I finally called the SC DOR telephone number and spoke to a very nice lady.
She actually toke the time to listen to me and ask for my FULL SSN #.
She asked me if this is the 1ST time filing SC State tax and I knew then she was actually looking at my return…..she advised me that it has not been processed being that it’s my first time filing SC State return it will take a little longer. I ask her if I should call back when my 4 weeks is up she told me I can keep checking the status online it may change before that.
I am glad I spoke to her cause it give me a little idea of how long it may be….not much information but it was something. -
Even with the delay they supposedly had last year I had my refund deposited February 16th last year. They might as well have said they were having one this year too.

Mine is still showing the “no refund in progress” message despite having already received my refund. If you paid for prep fees out of your refund you can check with SBBT or Republic to see if they have the information. I know Jackson Hewitt uses Republic Bank and Trust. My refund information shows on there.

So no joke my SC taxes were just loaded onto my card and my status never changed on the DOR website…. I got a text from JH stating funds were loaded and Amex sent an email saying i received my state refund. So maybe the same will happen for others too. I’m just confused as to why the status never changed online.

Now that I am re-reading it though, it says 2/16/16, which is actually incorrect and last year’s date **sigh** I think I got so excited last night to see 2/16 I didn’t even pay attention to 2016! Soooo….disregard! I thought that it was rather quick that it was updated. My refund amount from last year and this year are the same though so it may be pulling up last year’s info. No 2017 date.

@Manda No, I just checked mine and now I have a DDD of 4/13. I guess it doesn’t take as long now that the majority of filers are done. But, is it saying “processed” or “possessed”? If processed, then I would say they are just covering themselves with the 12 business day thing. Are you getting a direct deposit or paper check?

State finally says being processed 4/5So how long until the state issues refunds? The IRS was on it this year! I had to wait as I had discovered that there was an offset that was on my account in error and had to wait until they got it removed before I could file. So glad I did wait! Because this is the fastest that I have ever gotten a federal return.
State took 5 weeks last year and I had to call them several times. Kept getting “lost in limbo” or something. There were no errors or any id checks…was just not worked on. Hope I don’t have the same issue this year.

Same here–friends with same date, Wells Fargo and got theirs on 2/19. No offsets that I know of. It my understanding you would have to be notified of offsets prior to an organization submitting it to the DOR–at least 30 days in advance.
Wondering if it’s just different banks. I’m with Southstate.
