After I submitted my taxes through with TurboTax, I got an email stating that my taxes were rejected because someone had already filed one or both of my dependents. As upset as I was, I didn’t have any other choice but to file through mail. I was give an affidavit and I submitted proof of paper work that my daughters (dependents) were in my care. I mailed out my paper return Saturday Feb 9th 2019, and it was delivered to the IRS Monday Feb 11th. I went to check on my return on the IRS site and there’s no updates yet. The only message I’m receiving is the tax topic 152. I’m not sure exactly what that means. I just want to know if it’s been accepted based on my proof. I also want to know if anyone has experienced this or has any knowledge in this particular situation? How long will it take for my refund to complete and into my account since I do have to go through verification?

I had that issue last year. Filed a paper return and attached proof even though they said not to. They said i will recieve a letter if they needed proof. I recieved my return refund pretty quickly after. I recieved a letter in Nov. Saying that I was not supposed to claim my children then to amend and reconcile my claim but if I was legally allowed to claim the children to disregard the notice. My childrens father claimed him when i have full custody and have them 100% of the time so I obviously didn’t respond to the letter because i had the legal right to claim them. So I think you will be fine.
