I am curious my Wages, Tips & Compensation were ALLOT lower than my Social Security Wages, however I know I didn’t make any contributions to any pre tax items.

I am asking because everywhere I look it says use Wages,Tips & Compensation for Box 1 but is that right? I only ask because I know for a fact I didnt contribute to pre tax. If I use the Wages, Tips & Compensation I will be eligible for the EIC but didn’t want to make a mistake.
