Site moderator, where are you?

There’s an awful lot of abusive posts toward others trying to assist others. This should not be acceptable. This forum is for people helping people through the tax season. I ‘ve been using this site for years and I think this is the worst I’ve seen. There’s nothing wrong with a joke here and there for laughs but I’ve seen terrible comments that should not continue to be tolerated. In the past I’ve noticed where moderators intervene and cool it down. I’m not seeing it this year. I use to love being here but not anymore. Are the site moderators or administrators concern about losing traffic?

People just don’t like being told they’re wrong, I’m done being nice to people, I don’t need to waste my time answering questions factually… but then I remember the people who actually want the help and I stay.

@Kat: Sorry you feel that way. I know for myself and many other mods we spend numerous hours of our own free time doing our best to handle inappropriate comments. We have gone through a lot of the topics and removed comments that violate the “How We Moderate Comments” policy as well as dealt with specific users.

It’s bad this year. People are saying hateful things to people. I won’t be returning next year.

I am really sorry that you feel this site has not lived up to it’s previous standards for you. I assure you that we do our best to moderate comments. All of the mods work on a voluntary basis, but pour countless hours into helping out. There are times when there isn’t a mod available or not enough to be able to handle massive amount of trolls. It makes it especially difficult when trolls are fed and mods have to moderate those comments as well. The best thing anyone can do is to NOT feed the trolls. Generally if they don’t receive the attention they are looking for then they move on. If you have any further feedback, please feel free to e-mail admin. Thank you.

I just wanted to say, I have also been here for years…generally I’m the one who is stuck at one bar, or who has disappearing bars, or does not ever get a ddd until it shows up in my bank short of all my money! This site has been comforting when you can see and talk to others who are dealing with the same issues! Luckily I got a ddd this year and my dd today. First time it’s actually gone smooth. I truly appreciate you and others like you on this site. Here to help and comfort. Please don’t let the Jerks run you off!! There will always be a hand full of those. Good luck on your refund!!
