this was the last week for no action DD. After today it’s all u.s. mail once a week and releases on fridays unless you able to put in you dd the thursday before the scheduled friday. They leave the whole week open so the option for DD can be submitted. Why because the IRS welcomes DD over paper. They only mail out once a week. I know that for a fact. There are special circumstances no doubt but why post specials here? It don’t make any sense.

It says on IRS and all the news websites that they doing updates and dds and checks once a week going by last week it only updated on Saturday as that seems to be the day they will be doing updates and the ppl that got theirs on the 15th and before that their dds were sent out that friday before so makes sense also read on a few news articles that if u entered ur dd info in last week u will get it the following week so we should see ours this weekend

okay you guys did try to get your check direct deposited BUT unfortunately your situation calls for YOUR check to be mailed out to you. If your echeck got rejected by your third party bank then you get a mail out check. The IRS don’t play games. They are not going to take a chance to hit another one of your direct deposits and miss again. So, just be happy that you got an update indicating you’re even getting your check. Say thank you and move on.

This is from the US treasury regarding stimulus in 2008. At the bottom of the page it clearly states IRS would NOT send payment to a third party bank if the person had RAL or fees. Back then we had no option but to get a paper check. If the IRS is asking for DD Info then put it in. Don’t wait for something that is never going to happen

The serve card is a 3rd PARTY CARD that Jackson Hewitt uses for your tax refund.
With this stimulus check, the IRS is trying to stop all the payments that go to a 3rd party card but of course they cant catch every single one so what happens in that case is the $ bounces back to the IRS and they will send you a paper check.
Best thing to do is to go onto the irs.gov site and to update your direct deposit info from another bank besides the amex serve card.

@Portia Because if you had a refund advance, then the IRS sent your refund to your tax preparer’s bank, who then deposited it to your Serve card after collecting their fees. When you do those advances and have your tax prep fees deducted from your refund, then your direct deposit info is not included on your tax return.

For people who had their tax prep fees deducted from their refunds and/or got refund advances, you will NOT have to wait on a paper check, thankfully. As stated above, come April 17th the IRS will be providing a web portal on their website to let people provide their direct deposit information. It’s actually already present on the website, it’s just not active yet. They handled nonfilers first. As soon as that bar turns blue, people will be able to provide DD info to the IRS!
