I’ve been lurking for about 2 weeks for updates. My first payment came on my H&R block emerald card just fine. This time around I had the unavailable status on get my payment (still do). I’ve just received notification for informed delivery about the economic payment debit card

My transcript says Jan 4 also… yours is coming! TT just fixed this problem so your bank might take a day or so to process. I wouldn’t worry to much as it should post to your account by Monday or so.. some banks are slow!

It did not show it went to wrong account… it still says status not available on the irs website… but if you used a tax preparer service for 2019 taxes and have them take the fees out it goes to a 3rd party bank so they get their fees and then they post balance in your bank
The mix up was TT closed their 3rd party accounts and when IRS went to send the stimulus on Jan 4 it went to the 3rd party instead of my bank account so TT was fixing this and sent out emails

Last year was the first year in many that I didn’t use TT. I used an independent place and I’m wondering if the funds were sent to their account because the first check was to sent to an account I didn’t recognize but I ended up receiving it on the date they gave me.

If you didn’t receive an email confirming that your stimulus payment is on the way, we may not have enough information to process a payment for you. However, we are still working with the IRS and Treasury to find an alternative way to deliver your stimulus payment.

If the tool has always said pmt status not available they have until 01/15 to dd the stimulus in our account if you didn’t by then for those people getting dd’s then you will have to claim the credit on your 2020. So hoping in the next 6 days I will get the dd in my account. This is my situation. Hope this helps.

I got a clear answer from EIP rep today. So if you got for direct deposit on the last stimulus by direct deposit or on tax’s you have your deposit information if you are getting a stimulus you will get it in the same as long as it’s active.

Not sure if this helps anyone but I have always had direct deposit, have always filed taxes (for at least the last 15 years), have never changed banks or accounts, got my stimulus check in 2020 via direct deposit just fine last year. I got a paper check in the mail today. If you are expecting direct deposit and haven’t gotten it, don’t lose hope yet.

What happened was if you used Turbo Tax and had fees taken out for their service using your return (not the free version) the IRS sent the money to their 3rd party bank. At first they weren’t going to do anything about it until people started getting pissed and threatening lawsuits and the loss of customers. Payments have started to finally go out today.

GreenDot issues prior to the posting being final. I guess if you used a regular bank account, it would have to go through the regular pending time, IF it has been corrected with the proper information. That would only make sense to me for accounts that don’t offer deposits early. My credit unions will post early, but not my regular banks. Weird how all of this works…

Just like everyone else I received the email from TurboTax and the message from Chime. Unlike everyone else I spoke to the IRS directly who said when the payment returns they will cut a check and not be affected by that 1/15 cutoff.
With TurboTax saying they are working with the IRS we may get them DD. Don’t worry we won’t have to claim it on taxes that was guaranteed because we all ACTUALLY were sent one it just went to closed 3rd party accounts.

If you check shows a mail date of Jan 6th that is the date it will be mailed out not the date you will receive it. Last time my check was mailed it was on May 1 and I got it on May 8th. However, due to the post office being very backed up the mail may be running a lot slower than normal.

I wonder if this is solely a Turbo Tax issue. Has anyone not received their second stimulus, GMP says status unavailable, and didn’t file taxes with TT?

I received an email from Turbo Tax this morning. They state that they are working with the IRS and Treasury, and they now believe the deposits will be in our accounts within days. They said they also re-confirmed with the IRS that they have all of the correct banking information.

@Jeeroxs I believe JR1234 is a bot or something. He keeps saying go by what EIP tells you but some of us spoke directly to IRS agents and gave different information. EiP only gives generic information and can’t give information on an individuals personal info. From what I’ve read and people I’ve spoken to if you have a mail date you’re golden and it should be there soon. 😊

Jeeroxs when you say the bird site are going by the transcript or the payment tracker tool? Per irs, EIP reps, online research you only go by what the tracker says only. The transcript is kinda a good guide but the tool is more accurate.

I spoke with both IRS and TT. Turbo tax rep stated they’re working diligently with the IRS to fix the bank info mishap. After an hour and 2 attempts I reached a rep at the IRS I questioned the no payment info-she checked and stated it showed that I have a dd of 01/04/2021 there was a glitch and to allow 7 days from 01/04/2021. If I do not have payment by the 11th to call back. Fingers crossed!!!!

I’m confused about this whole “file a credit if you have the unavailable message” thing. The IRS was given a direct order by the president to send out ALL payments by a certain date. Telling people that their basically SOL until they file for a EIP credit on their taxes isn’t following that order.

From what people are saying in the fb groups that have talked to irs today is that if your transcript says issued 1/4 we can’t file on taxes bc it was technically issued so if we do claim it we will get audited. So we have to wait on dd or check bc that would be considered claiming it twice. So it only refers to the people that don’t see the 1/4 on their transcript.

Spoke with an IRS representative last night who confirmed ours was sent to the wrong account. He said we’d have to wait until filing. One very confusing thing, though. I was able to pull my transcript on Saturday, and it showed a deposit date of 1/4 as well as the first eip. Now it doesn’t show anything, not even the first eip. Anyone have an idea of why?

@Jr1234 the EIP reps can give generic information but if you want to know about your personal information you have to ask them to transfer you to an IRS rep. Some people don’t have access to their transcripts. I do and I called and they told me the account number and everything. Now that TT is trying to work with the IRS I’m hoping they are able to get the payments out.

It doesn’t matter who you bank with. EIP reps do have the information. Per two rep there as long as the payment status is not available error you have been getting the whole time doesn’t necessarily mean your not getting the payment. It could also mean it has not been processed. If it says that it was dd ‘d on 01/04 to your bank and it’s an account don’t recognize then the irs sent to the wrong account but I heard bot tt and h & r block is working with the irs to correct.

The EIP department has generic information and can’t give information about your personal information. You have to ask to speak to an IRS rep and they will transfer you. @bob the transcript is on the IRS site and you have to have an account. I found out the bank account that my stimulus was sent to by speaking to an IRS Agent. The transcript only says date you were sent your stimulus and how much, but yes, if it directs anyone to a different site and asks for banking info or any of that then don’t put any of that in. Your transcript doesn’t ask any of that and sends a text to verify it’s you.

It’ll go through a whole message then tell you to hold
If it says that agents are too busy hang up and redo

Some of y’all be careful. So many people willing to insert banking information and SSN to get “stimulus payment timeline” but you could be setting yourself up for a scam. If you haven’t got DD yet, hope for paper check, if not you can file it at the end of the month. Do your taxes electronically and you’ll see your money mid February. Stay positive.

Okay.. so just trying to share the info I just received.. TT says that if your stimulus was sent to SBTPG & the last stimulus was sent to your bank via direct deposit then when the IRS receives your rejected payment back from SBTPG they will redistribute to your correct bank account.

Here’s what I was told by the IRS agent:
-The payment hasn’t yet returned and it takes up to 5 days.
-The process they are told is when the payment is rejected then they will send out a paper check once the payment comes back.
-The 1/15 date is only for people who DID NOT receive a payment and in my case I received a payment it was just sent to a closed account and will be issued as a check.

Even if your transcript says refund issued 1/4, you will have to file the form to get stimulus when you do your taxes. Your transcript will update Thursday or Friday reflecting the refund was returned to the IRS. That’s if WMP says not available. Sucks

If you dont get your check and they give you the recovery rebate you will not be able to claim it on your taxes until 2022 during tax season. My stimulus was direct deposited the first time to my bank account but the second check was sent to a green dot bank account in utah. I’ve never had a green dot card before. IRS really fucked the pooch on this one…

I received information from IRS agent yesterday that the account number my payment was sent to was last 4 of my social meaning it went to my tax preparers third party bank. Unfortunately I used TT and Unlike H&R block they decided not to help their customers. I was told by the IRS agent that when my payment returns I’d be sent a check but then in the evening the IRS changed their information on their site. I’m calling again today to see if this is still the case.

It’s TT and the IRS. TT decided not to pay the fees for SBTPG to send the payments to everyone so the payments were rejected and sent back to the IRS. They were supposed to send out checks at that point but since so many people’s payments came back they don’t have enough time to send out checks before 1/15 so they are making us all do the recovery rebate.

They aren’t sending it to any other account. They mistakenly sent it to your tax preparers bank, who sent it back to the IRS.

SBTPG says,”If the IRS indicates funds were sent to TPG those funds will be rejected back to the IRS.”

And the IRS says, “Because of the speed at which the law required the IRS to issue the second round of Economic Impact Payments, some payments may have been sent to an account that may be closed or, is or no longer active, or unfamiliar.”

If you look at your cycle code, 2020 is your year, 53 would be the week of the year. 53 refers to the first week of January. 02 corresponds to what day you receive updates about the status of a tax return. I have the same cycle code, 846 on transcript with 1/4 as a ddd.

The tax preparer is the problem. Not chime. Not IRS. TurboTax did mine and they set up another account to get my taxes in so they could get their fees. These accounts are closed now. So when the IRS sent stimulus to a closed acct it was sent back. This is the problem with everyone’s stimulus payment.

The problem with stimulus checks being deposited is TurboTax. They had separate accts set up for everyone’s return to go to so they could hold out fees. These accts no longer exist so the stimulus money is being returned because those accounts are closed. TurboTax should have figured it out instead of sending the money back to the IRS.

You should have asked to be transferred to see what the last 4 of the account number is that your Stim was sent to. The 3rd party for Turbo Tax is SBTPG and SBTPG already stated they are rejecting any payments sent to them.

The IRS agent advised me to call back again later this week to see if the payment has returned and as soon as it does they send out a check.

@ Yoshi yes. It took me a full 2 hours. So what happens is you get the stimulus department who tells you they can’t access anything but they transfer you to an IRS agent. From the stimulus department to the IRS agent took 25 minutes the first wait was a hour and a half.

I think if you have not got it by today u won’t be receiving a d/d. The best case scenario now is it will be mailed asap. The next best scenario is you claim it as a credit on taxes. The worst case scenario is you owe taxes or child support and even if you claim as credit you won’t see the money in your pocket.

@lina yes the fees they charge you when you file for using their services. If you have the fees deducted from your return then the return is sent to Their Santa Barbra turbo tax back, they then take their fees out then send you the remainder of your return. It’s basically a middle man between you and the irs. So the irs is sending our payments to them instead of our actual banks.

It’s not just Chime users. From what I understand it’s anyone that used Turbo Tax. The IRS is sending stimulus to Turbo Tax accounts and they are being rejected. Same thing happened if you used H &R Block but they somehow sent the stimulus to the correct account for their customers.

It nay hang up on you a couple times but if it says to hold and doesn’t tell you to call back you’ve gotten through. I called 6 times then the last time it told me to hold and didn’t say couldn’t be completed so I held. I am 30 minutes in and at 25 minutes it told me “calls may be recorded please continue to hold” which means I am actually on hold. There’s no music or anything so it feels like you’re not holding but you are.

The deadline is January 15, from what I was told once it’s rejected and the irs receives the payments back, their won’t be enough time to get the checks mailed to us. Sadly, if you haven’t gotten your stimulus yet, you will end up getting it your 2021 tax return. Anything government ran usually is unorganized and sloppy. They rushed this shit and now millions of us have to wait an extra 4-6 weeks to see any type of refund.

Was sent a check first time but was able to update my payment info in get my payment, looked yesterday said it was being deposited to my chime account yesterday, still nothing. My unemployment gets deposited to chime too, usually comes today around 330-4 so if that doesn’t come I’m putting this on chime as the problem

Santa Barbara Tax Group has statement on their website that says if you used Turbo Tax for your original return, they have rejected the Economic Impact Payment for you that was sent to them. Funds have been returned to the IRS and we’ll now be waiting on a paper check. ⏰ 😩

CHIME ACCOUNTS , if you have a chime account, Chime will not accept a stimulus deposit in 2 peoples names ( filed taxes jointly) they currently dont offer joint accounts so your stimulus is sent back to the IRS and either a paper check or debit card will be mailed. Just found this out. just FYI if anyone is wondering why they didnt get a deposit.

The other account is most likely HR Block account. Look at 2019 taxes and see if your money went to them before they sent you check. That is what happen to me.

Still waiting here in Virginia. Last year I received my first stimulus check on April 13th at 3:12 a.m. this year it looks like time bank will be the last ones to receive their stimulus. So far I’ve noticed no one in Virginia has received their check. chime bank doesn’t process deposits on the weekend so if we don’t receive a direct deposit tomorrow it will likely be Monday morning.
