So I decided to check SBTPG’s (Santa Barbara Tax Payer Group) site to see if they’ve received my refund. And if you don’t know this, filing with Turbo Tax (maybe other Tax sites, I’m unsure) your refund will be sent to SBTPG and they will take the fees out and send the remainder to your bank account. So…I checked and it said at the top they hadn’t received my refund, but I scrolled down and it shows they have received it. 🤔 I’m confused lol. Maybe it hasn’t updated in their system and won’t until Monday? Thoughts?

Lots of good information here about SBTPG!
Does anyone know about how long it takes to go from “Refund Sent” (WMR) to “Refund Received” (SBTPG)?
My deposit date on WMR is February 28, but SBTPG hasn’t received the refund yet.

@STL2ATL The daily and weekly stuff is confusing. I just know that I’m a weekly because I updated Saturday, and I guess weekly’s update on Saturdays. For the people who haven’t updated, I’m just guessing that they’ll update this week considering the official opening is tomorrow the 29th. I’m not sure if it’ll be during the week or Saturday that you update. All this delay is a bunch of crap and I believe the IRS wants to take their sweet time to pay out. They don’t care because it’s not them waiting. Hopefully all this nonsense stops eventually.

@Jerrica I was affected by PATH last year. Filed 1/11/17 accepted 1/13/17, TT estimated my refund date until 2/05/17. Didn’t get it until 2/26/17. It is just amazing that those who filed after me have more movement both last year and this year. So, basically you are speculating that I am a weekly?
WTH… all this Daily, Weekly talk… a couple years ago I would file and get my federal within 1 1/2 weeks. I have been breaking even with State for the last few years. IRS made this BS up…

@STL2ATL Thanks, I hope I get my refund Wednesday as it says. I’ll be sure to let everyone know considering I have EIC. I imagine since you haven’t seen the PATH message that maybe you’ll update next week? Hope you do! I’ve seen a decent amount of posts where people have said they haven’t seen PATH yet, and some have but it disappeared and they got a DDD.
I could see how people that were affected last year by PATH, which I was one of those, might not get held this year with as many people that have a DDD and have the EIC or ACTC.@Dusti Yes, I have EIC and have a DDD for Wednesday (1/31).

I always check SBTPG before WMR after my refund as been accepted. But now I am confused. So here is my situation..
Attempted to file 1/11 like I do every year, but forms were not available
Filed 1/19
Accepted 1/22
WMR one bar 1/22
WMR still on one bar as of today 1/28
Filed with TT stated I have EIC and CTC not sure on ACTC
Fees paid through SBTPGOrdered both transcripts on 1/26 by mail…
— My husband said he heard hear in ATL on the Rickey Smiley morning show, it was a lady on there answering questions regarding taxes and she stated those that was affected by the PATH last year should not be affected this year…especially if using the same dependents as the prior year. NOT SURE OF THE LEGITIMACY
Like @Jerrica I noticed each discussion she posted she have a DDD for 1/31 with EIC. Others have stated they went to seeing the PATH message. Do anyone have any idea as to me not seeing anymore movement? I don’t have a DDD or PATH just the same ole one bar. When may I see an update to my situation?
@Jerrica I am hoping you come back with good news on Wednesday. -

Y’all are welcome for the help. I’ve been filing my taxes for over 30 years now and going through SBTPG for at least 15. Their website can be confusing at times. ;)

@Teetee They haven’t, it’s just letting them know the amount to expect. I read on SBTPG’s site it’s a pre-notification, and that refunds are sent to SBTPG the day of your refund, they take fees, and then send the refund to you. If you are using your phone you can turn it sideways and see a few columns: Expected, Received and Date Received. If you are on a computer, you should be able to scroll left or right to see the other columns. So if you have a DDD like me for Wednesday, or whatever day, you might see that SBTPG will receive your refund a day early. I’m going to check tomorrow and Tuesday anyway.

@turtlebug1971 Thanks! I see that’s just the pre-notification that I read about containing the Expected Amount.

In the box where it tells you the amount of your refund, you have to scroll to the right and it will show they haven’t received it yet. It’s a little hard to explain but that box at the bottom is like another window that doesn’t all fit on the page. It looks like they’ve revived it until you move it all the way over then you can see everything.

EIC and CTC
Filed 1/22 accepted 1/24
PATH on WMR
Just checked the SBTPG site and same… top says no, but you scroll down and it says received
Just shows amount expected from IRS – doesn’t show fees or anything
Still not understanding? Lol -

Nevermind :) I found my answer.
“Usually 1 to 2 days before a refund is scheduled to arrive, the IRS sends a pre-notification of the refund amount to TPG. The IRS does not deposit the money at this time, but it is only a notification that the refund is on its way. We set up the disbursement upon receiving that pre-notification so that the refund amount reaches your client on the same day it would have if the money was deposited directly from the the IRS into the taxpayer’s bank account. Your fees arrive on the same schedule.”
