I filed with turbo tax and now on sbtpg a new fee has been added that I wasn’t told about when I filed. I know to have fees taken from the refund their is a refund transfer fee if $39, but now I have that fee and they’ve added another of $40 that says 1st refund transfer fee. Does anyone know what this is and why it’s been added? It isn’t a fee that I agreed to before hand and it was added weeks after I filed!

Hey y’all just wanted to check in with you.
So I’m 36 hours without a response from SBTPG
You know they are probably getting bombarded with questions about it, and they seem to not care to answer about it. I guess there’s a chance that they didn’t train the agents doing the contacts on it but I don’t see that being the case.
So who knows when/if we will ever get answers about it.
Will let you guys know if they ever decide to let us know hahaha. -

I have the fee too $40 but it isn’t showing my advance anywhere and I’m still unfunded. Getting annoyed

I filed for free with TT but got the advance and am also charged the 40$ on STpg. I shouldn’t have any fees coming out at all!

I just opened a case with SBTPG asking them about that and where in our agreement does it say they will charging us that fee because I can’t find it anywhere. I’ll update once I get a response.

@Krystal Ledbetter they did charge me too. My fees were suppose to be $117 which was $39 fed, $39 state and $39 for having the fees out of your return. TurboTax had no idea what I was talking about and said there is no other fees. However SBTG Is taking $157 out of my return

Hi, it may be the fee they charge if you opt to have your fees taken out of your return. They charge 39.99 for that.

Please do! I’ve looked everywhere on their website and TurboTax, but can’t find one thing related to 1st refund transfer fee! I’ll post if I find out anything as well!

I emailed their support team about it. Will update here if they get back to me about it.

This fee is definitely BS!! I sure didn’t agree to pay it when I signed paperwork. It looks like their trying to charge it to almost everyone, especially ones who had fees taken from refund. Theirs no way their allowed to do that! Their going to cost TurboTax a lot of business doing things like this!

It also popped up on mine. I researched exactly what it says the fee is and can not find it anywhere in the paperwork from turbo, cant find it anywhere on SBTG either.

Has anyone figure out what this fee is? It was added as well to my account today, I’ve never paid this much to sbtg, never again!

I also saw the few and called TT they were clueless told me there was no extra $40 fee and i only had to pay the $117 she made me explain how I could even see the fee.

They can’t charge you that extra fee if they d9 demand it back, if they refuse state attorney generals office for your state. A few years back sbtpg and turbo tax were sued in a class action for this very thing.

I just went to see what you guys are talking about and I have that fee too. When Turbo tax told me my fees, that wasn’t included. Their fee is supposed to be $39. I will never use turbo tax again

I used H&r block. Just because I have fees taking out and turbo tax always screws me over while taking out fees.

I also see the fee you speak of. I feel like I remember in years past that they had a 75.00 fee that is added on to your fees for the temporary account that SBTPG makes for you to have the money deposited into. I just don’t remember seeing it broken down before.
I found this somewhere in the Terms & Conditions when you’re prepping your taxes and you request to have the fees taken out last year but haven’t looked this year to try to find this, I assume it’s just the account fee though. -

I called TT to try and get an answer and the rep couldn’t even find anything under my name related to 2021 taxes (filing year 2022). 🙄🤦🏾♀️ I don’t even have words at this point.

Same here!! For 2 weeks it only showed the $39 Fee and the turbo fees. Now all of a sudden it’s showing an additional 1st Refund Transfer Fee of $40. And I went back and looked at all the paperwork signed electronically (including the fine print) and I don’t see ANYTHING about an additional $40 Fee being a possible charge that I could get. I want to know what the hell it is and why. I can’t find any info on either companies websites. So who are we supposed to talk to about it?!

I sent an email. Fuck that shit. They have my total at 160 something. I only had to lay because of unemployment and it wasnt a simple return but these mfs always got something extra every year. Should have used HR block.
Or has anyone used cashapps tax filing ? Lol -
February 12, 2022 at 6:39 pm #4509194Justin
They must have had it in the fine print somewhere. I also have it added to mine this year. It’s whatever but next year I’m definitely paying fees up front. I say it every year but I’m definitely done with their shit.

I also logged onto TT and it only shows my $39 fee for doing my federal return and the $39 fee for Refund Processing Service Fee. So that additional fee is BS.
-

First time using advance and paid with federal refund with TT. I see that $40 First Refund Fee too!!
Prior to today, that $40 fee didn’t show so it was just added. I think the last time I checked was on Thursday. WTH?!!!
