I filed my taxes on January 28th. Refund was rejected because the IRS sent me an individual pin code that I needed to add to my refund before filing and I had not received it. I luckily got it that same day in the mail and refiled. Refund was accepted January 28th. I have not received any updates on the “Wheres my refund”. So after 22 days had passed I decided to call. I ALWAYS receive my refund by now. The last two years I have received it between the 19th and the 21st of February. IRS lady told me that I was randomly selected for accuracy and that I needed to wait 45 days from March 2nd to expect an update. What in the world? I called this morning and spoke with a tax advocate and she told me to call the first week of March and they could pick the file up BUT currently they were not accepting these. I am so confused. Will it really be 45 days? That puts me into the middle of April. I have things that have to be paid. I depended on this refund coming soon to pay off some debts from a car accident and attorneys fees from a custody battle. I am so upset. Note, I do claim two children and have claimed them both since they were born. One born in 2010 and one born in 2016.

@Alx D. when I spoke to the tax advocate office she said she didnt show that anything needed to be sent in. She said that the IRS may not have received my income information yet? Makes no sense. The only thing I can think of is that maybe its because I made $10k more in 2019 than I did in 2018? But idk if that would cause it. Did you misfile or make any mistakes? Not to be nosey. But I have NEVER had anything like this happen.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But hold tight for a long wait. Unless you get a tax advocate. You may be able to submit whatever it is they looking at and get it faster. Happened to me last year. Didnt get it until may-Jun. I didnt get a Tax Advocate though. I waited it out.
