      What is the real amount of time it takes to process your return if you get a letter and have to fax back the info? First year this happened to me. They said six to eight weeks

            Find out if it can be handled over the phone. If not, get them the info (I mean every single thing asked), ASAP. Then, call. The IRS operates on their own time – no rush! But a call can make a speedy process. I know of someone who mailed in all socials, wages, all previous addresses, past return info etcetera, because the IRS continued to reject the info provided. Within a week, they had a ddd.

            @Kae, Couldn’t you set up an account w your postal service? From there you should be able to monitor your mail.

              I so worried I will miss the IRS letter if one comes. I’m a travel technician and I’m stuck in North Dakota til mid March time frame.
