Hello,
I received my refund DD about 2 weeks ago. It was WAY lower than when I filed like $645 lower. I called 800-304-3107 and of course can’t get a live person but when entering my SS it says I have no prior or current offset. When calling IRS and the Advocate line they say my refund has been offset but that I don’t owe the IRS? I can’t seem to get a direct answer from anyone and I have been constantly checking the mail to see if an “offset letter” was sent explaining what the offset is. Is anyone having this same issue? I am a student and on my student loans, it shows I do not owe anything until 2020. Also, I am unemployed and have been for the past 2 years as I am only a full-time student. I don’t have any credit cards, and I live in Texas which I believe doesn’t owe State Taxes because we are exempt. Also, I have no kids so I know it isn’t child support. Someone, please help!
