@serrell – Try this number…8008290582 ext. 652. Just be really nice and tell them that you are just wondering on any updates on your refund. Good Luck with this. Its frustrating but hang in there.

I received an under review letter on Jan 26 saying to wait 60 days until I contact them if I don’t receive any correspondence from them. I still haven’t and in ten days the 60 is up. I’ve tried calling and cannot get through to anyone after the operator as they can’t accept the call due to high volume calls on this tax topic. Well it help to bring my return and w2 to the local irs offIce? Irs two hours away and they don’t talk with anyone over the phone, I cant even ask if they can help me before I drive two hours one way. This really sucks. I don’t even know why I’m under review.

              @ Katherine
I would personally go to your local IRS office. Just a thought.

I have been under review since Feb. 4th. Got a letter Feb 16th wanting me to prove residency and that I supported my grand daughter and daughter…I faxed in over 40 pages of proof…I called last week and it has not been assigned to anyone. I spent 52 minutes on hold today just to be told it still has not been assigned to anyone to see if my information is sufficient and was told it could take another 60-90 days it is assigned and reviewed just to see if I faxed in enough information

Well, in my case of 4644c.. it looks as if i forgot to report an irs interest payment made to me last year.. so im pretty sure thats what they may have been looking for on my return. My income and wage transcript updated today with this info. As for the wait the transcript guide says it could take until july for them to receive your w2 etc from the employer(s) so i believe thats y they give you an estimate of 6-8 weeks or so..
