Here’s one, and thanks so much for your thoughts…. Filed taxes by mail due to not having a PIN number and being unable to get a new PIN within a decent period of time. On the mailed in filing, I listed my bank account number. Even if they have to mail my income tax refund because of the method that I filed, can they use those numbers to Direct Deposit the Stimulus Money? Any advice? Thanks.

Interesting as the 1040 printout I mailed in included my refund amount and checking account info. You would figure they scan that into the system and are able to direct deposit it once finished. It’s been over two months now and all I have is the “still processing” bs message. La, do, dah…

I don’t believe there’s any option to have your federal refund direct deposited for a mailed return yet. But you should still be able to use the IRS portal to receive the stimulus payment faster.

Lesser, thank you for the response. A follow up question if I may.. I mailed my taxes in early February. My State refund was finally approved and has been mailed very recently after a bit over two months. They didn’t offer a direct deposit option if you mailed your taxes in. Does the IRS offer that? Or only a refund by check in the mail? Like I said, I put my checking account numbers on the tax return I mailed to the IRS. Thanks again for the info.

Either way, if I were you, I would go to the IRS.gov portal to enter DD info that is supposed to be available starting this Friday 4/17.

They can and might, IF they received AND accepted AND began processing your return before their offices shut down. If it was mailed recently it’s unlikely as the IRS has made it clear that they are not currently processing anything that wasn’t e-filed. Basically, there’s a chance if your banking info was input into their computer system before they stopped processing mailed returns.

I have a very similar situation. Does anyone have information on this?
