I filed and was accepted on 1/28/2016. WMR stood on 1 bar until 2/13/16 and then changed to “your return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.” I was able to order both transcripts on 2/19/16. I called the IRS today just to find out what was taking so long and was told that my refund is being held and I should receive a letter stating why by mail 30 days from February 1st. The Rep said she couldn’t see why or what was holding it up. Has anyone had this problem? I’m so frustrated.

You can’t order transcripts yet because they haven’t processed your return yet.

Transcripts are just a written version of your taxes. They can’t send you a copy until they process your return. Even then if things aren’t complete the transcripts can arrive blank or missing the codes that are helpful in understanding what’s going on with your return.

I received both my account and return transcripts the other day. I had filed on 1/29 and ordered transcripts on 2/5 (acct) and 2/10 (ret). All the important information was missing so they were completely pointless.

Being able to order them does at least mean some progress on their end.

Well just checked and I can order the account transcript but not the return? I don’t know what that means though.

I don’t know if I’m on hold but filed and accepted 2/11 and had 1 bar for about a week then then I went to no bars and still processing! I can’t even order transcripts yet. So frustrating!
