I had an offset in 2017 and I still got my refund the same day but it was mid afternoon rather than just after 12am. Of course this is just what my experience was, all can be different

How long do you have to wait before requesting a tax advocate?

              Refund Accepted – 1/22
Bars Disappeared and received error Take Action 1541 – Feb 11
Called and spoke with rep and was advised that it would not be processed for review until 03/05, and that the review process takes 45 days from 03/05.

I do have a hardship. I believe that mine were selected for review because I’ve had a significant reduction in income from all previous years.

I woke up with take action but no tax topic. It just says there is a delay processing. I know that some numbers from W2 may have been off & I also owe state taxes. It honestly can be either of those 2 things for me. 570 on transcript yesterday. No notice sent.

Last year I got the take action 1541 and called numerous times first few times told nothing wrong they were just working on it. Then got given different stories. Finally called a tax advocate (if you’re getting varying stories from different reps I suggest reaching out to one they are free and can see everything and are extremely helpful at least the advocate I had) turns out one of my wife’s employers had not filed the w2 with the IRS so when we put it on our return the IRS was suspicious we made it up. We had to get a signed note from her boss verifying the w2 was correct and we qualified for a hardship so the advocate had me fax her things and put a rush on it.

We truly had a hardship and I’m not suggesting anyone claim they have one if they don’t but I offered to provide proof my electric was about to be turned off but they required no proof just took my word.

If you’re not getting a straight answer please reach out to an advocate. The IRS told me they had mailed out 2 different letters and even after I had everything resolved and received my deposit I STILL a year later have received 0 letters they claim to have sent

Filed w/o permission 1/8/19( long story)
                      Accepted 1/10/19
                      Delayed return message 2/8/19
I called as. soon as I got it I spoke with a nice young lady she told me it was a generic message and I had nothing to worry about. 2/8/19
I called today and spoke with two different reps. 1st one told me I was under review and that my return had been pulled but gave a date of Feb 25th and told me to count 45 days from that date if I have not received anything.
2nd one told me I had nothing to worry about please allow them to continue to process the return and if I have EIC OR ACT please allow two more weeks.

Im hopiing in the morning I see something different , I hope we all something we all have updates, money and everything

Maybe because you filed early and it’s past the 21 days since you filed. I hope for ya anyways. I hope you get a DDD for early next week!

That happened to us two years ago when the 1095A we received didn’t match the one the healthcare company sent to the IRS. Ended up taking until March 29th to get our refund after filing around Jan 28th that year. I didn’t really hate him, but I hated Obamacare, this was one reason why. Thanks, Obama!

Hope it’s better for you guys and you don’t have to wait that long.

There are a bunch of us that have it. The threads are mostly titled with different references to the red number 1541. We are all hoping for an update tonight but many have already learned that they are under review.
