Received Federal Return But Not State?

So I filed 1/26 for both state & federal and last week on 2/10 I received my federal return but as of today 2/17 I still have not received my state return. Is there anyone else with this problem?

I have tried using the “Check My Refund” from the ftb website for California and it tell me they are unable to check my status. Then whenever I call and try to speak to a representative it basically says there is a “high volume of callers” and to “call back later.”

I don’t know what to do. Last year I received my state and federal the same day no problem. For some reason this year has just been a complete mess.

Almost all states are delaying refunds due to potential fraud and are putting additional checks in place to ensure that each return was filed by the actual person whose name is on the return. It is similar to the ID verify that the Federal IRS is doing; but each state is doing their own verification differently. You can Google it and find articles and press releases from many, many states about this. Honestly, I think we are just going to have to get used to these delays and not expect refunds as quickly they have been in years past.

Personally, I am going to do the research this year to determine exactly what I need to have taken out to cover my actual taxes that will be owed and not have any additional taken out that would cause a refund. I would much rather have the money during the year then go though all this BS on a yearly basis.

I just don’t get it. Never had this issue before. I’m wondering if similar to my Federal return that it’s just taking longer? I dunno :/

im in the same boat, filed and accepted 1/31 got my federal on the 10th. still nothing from state
