Received check didn’t file

      Today my daughter received a refund check, it looks legitimate, but we never filed returns, she is just 18 and only made around $365 in 2015 , the check is just for $65 but it is something for her, I am afraid to deposit it, does the IRS send refund checks even if you don’t file? I am pretty sure our accountant filed extensions for us.
